Yeah, tbh having legendary armour and jewelry makes playing all these builds easy.bi still have to work on getting more weapons, hopefully some good ones come in the vault next cycle

I love your guides. You are very good at making the amateur (me) understand why you are doing what you are doing. The why is very important. I do have a question though, Why are you using Fencer's Finesse when you aren't using a sword?

Those stacks of ferocity help us with our power dps side of our dps, remember even though we are a condition dps class, we cap our crit. So this, especially in fractals and landscape will he'll our burst dps

I am a MMO vet - started in EQ. Have done the hardest raids in many games. But looking to get into GW2 and play it casually. Family/work taking up to much time. Looking for an easy to play class that is effective/fun . Only thing I don't like is glass cannons that has to dodge/die :( Is there a class you recommend? Seems the game is pretty balanced.

This class will get you far, if you play this and the power dps version(will make a guide soon) you can literally do all content and will probably be top dps... because of the blocks and distortions and also other utilities/weapons, mesmer/virtuoso is a amazing starting class that will also preform top tier if you get to CMs etc

I recommend Condi Vindicator. You will never ever die even if you're soloing champions or other tougher bosses. The self sustain and passive healing is op as hell. You might not do top damage but you won't die either so it's a better trade off and you still do good damage but not super high damage like Virtuoso and the Vindicator has the best dodge.

Well, prepare to be disappointed. Every class has to dodge at some point, it's a key game mechanic. As for glass cannons, that depends on how you build your character. Any class can be "tanky". Though there is no dedicated "tank" role in GW2 you can build your character with high toughness.

Oh also, I forgot about the changes in the fractal pots when making this guide, so forget what I said about a 3rd fractal build, it is not needed as long as you are 60% crit, but you can use sword and focus on the offhand rather than the torch

Does power contribute to damage or could you swap that stat for something else like vitality or toughness? I mean for the chaos built, could you swap some of that power for some other stat that will boost your utilities or make your gameplay easier. You could also increase your concentration or expertise. I'm not exactly how it works, i don't have legendaries to swap stats and test i just have some doubts when it comes to the contribution of power. It seems to me that power is helpful for open world and my focus is more on bosses.

So power I fairly important, now lots of ferocity and capped crit it scales even higher. You might gain survivability through toughness in landscape but, for raids, strikes and fractals you will drop a lot of dps by dropping power... the current dps benchmark set by snowcrows (Speed running elite raiders) has power at around 23% of the dmg output and condition dps at 77%. So by switching to trailblazers or ritualists, you will lose a decent amount but you will gain toughness/vitality however we do not really supply any useful boons for ritualists to be considered. Now especially for the dueling build, we are one of the only condition dps classes that cap crit, with the traits that provide ferocity our % of power to condition dmg goes closer to the 40% mark, which is why it's good for fractals. Is rune of the trapper and relic of the fractals combo good?

I don't think it would be bad but I think in general missing that bleed duration is going to hurt a bit and also the 20sec cd of the relic of the fractal will also hurt a bit. But atleaset then you wouldn't need to worry about stuns and dazes. All this being said and I think trapper runes and relic of atrocity could be a good combo

Having a tough time where the missing 10% condi duration comes from in the dueling virt build. All I'm seeing is 74.53+15 from aristoc approximately equaling 90.
