Reminds me a bit of Fenris from DA2, severely broken and abused elf by a cruel master. Angry at the world, distrustful of mages. But once he opens up to the player, and if romanced by them (think you can still get similar results if you befriend him...but I always end up romancing him...) and he becomes a better/happier person, finally knowing/realising that he is safe, loved, wanted and respected.

It’s my favorite scene for me. Its just that feel of good shock on his face… the best gentle way to demonstrate love to someone that has been sexually used/abused. I understood the quick stand back on this… not to give room for him to go into his dark times being close to someone. Brilliant and tender ❤😢

It might just be the first intimate touch with no expectations for something more that he has had in a long time. Which is so heartbreaking but so beautiful that he now gets to experience that if he wants. My fav response in this scene is to say that they can hold off on sex for as long as he needs but I love going back and doing the hug every so often 🤍 I feel like so much was said with that hug

Out of all the characters in this game, Astarion was the most tragic and interesting one. And Neil played the part perfectly. He deserves an Oscar for his performance. Everyone did beautifully in their roles, but somehow Neil was able to outshine everyone.

Romancing him is just so rewarding. It takes a while for him to warm up to you if your Tav is kind. But once he learns that he can trust you, the friendship and romance just develops naturally. It helps that he loves to gossip and always has an opinion about something, lol. So when Tav stops by his tent, they always have something to chat about. I visit all my companions equally, but no one chats with me as much as he does. 😅 So even though I started my first playthrough thinking I would romance Gale, I just naturally drifted closer to Astarion over time and ended up with him instead.

Astarion is a right little chatter box, ISTG, every time I'm in camp he always has an exclamation mark over his head, or he always has something to say about what's going on or a thought in his brain. Like the others will occasionally have something interesting to say, but not nearly as often as he does.

oh man... In my second playthrough I started romancing Astarion but decided to freindzone him and switch to Gale at the Tiefling party. Just to experience more of the game. But as soon as I watched this video I literally went back on my save just to spend the night with Astarion again because I realized he is the only character I genuinely care about 😅

The only thing they need to fix is how tav backs up like 6 feet after every interaction lmao It’s so derpy. I want her to stay standing close when they talk , and Astarion should put his hand on her face and say something before she walks away, rather than an abrupt end to the interaction

It's from the game soundtrack the instumental version of "I want to live". The original version is with lyrics (my favorite one) and there is also an orchestral version. If you also don't know the game, it's Baldur's Gate 3.

trigger his romance scene before meeting the blood merchant in moonrise to get this dialogue :) and then choose to hug him when given the option

You have to kill Yugir first to advance Astarion's story and have him at high enough affection. Just make sure you don't talk to the blood lady in moonrise or it changes how the scene plays out. You can talk to her after you get this confession scene though. Both confessions are nice, but I like this one more personally.
