Agnosticism about a creator or the method of creation of universe and the qualities of the creator is fine. But the atheism is more about the religious beliefs. What it says is that the religions that we come across claim some things while providing no evidence hence none of them seem to be the truth. Hence, we don’t believe in them. The scientific discrepancies only add to the fact that is not a matter of “we don’t know” and that we can actually refute the claim. Agnosticism is surely an easy way out, saying that I don’t make any claims at all. While atheism requires studying religions and analysing them a lot to actually make a claim.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidences and as such agnostics remain neutral when it boils down to the existence of a God. It's wiser to remain and acknowledge that "I don't know" than to jump to conclusions on matters beyond human perceptions.

@@earthlycreature8772 I don’t know whether there is a creator or not, neither do I know the method of creation. But given the set of observable evidences and data and proofs, I can say that none of the religious gods exists, at least not in the form that they describe.

@@earthlycreature8772 also, refuting extraordinary claims does not require extraordinary evidences as it is not same as making extraordinary claims. “I could fly and talk to sky till the age of 11, I only flew at nights when nobody ever saw me and talking to sky was done telepathically.” Now you can’t disprove this, so will you say “I don’t know” or make a logical case saying 1)No human is known to fly, 2)If you’re special, how?, 3)Flying requires thrust force equal to a person’s weight and no organ in our body is available to create such a force. Similarly, at least for religious gods, you can come to such conclusions.

@@earthlycreature8772 Carl Sagan would be rolling in his grave if it was possible for saying that. That is not what he meant. It is an extraordinary claim to say there is an all knowing and all powerful god. That is the claim that requires the evidence.

You should look up his videos on this. I believe he discusses his position from different perspectives, and one of them is as an agnostic atheist. He also always says that if he sees evidence for god, he would accept it! However until there is evidence, we can’t have an emotional and religious bias. We can accept things only when there is evidence.
