Why friction acts toward the center for a car moving in a circular motion? Is it to counter the tangential velocity effect on the car? Thanks Intuitively The car has the tendency to centrifuge away and the friction between the road and the tires acts toward the center to counter the tendency of the car to centrifuge out at every instant.
