As always, your TWI Lessons are really very useful! Your teaching style makes learning very comfortable. It's a lot to learn so, I do screenshots. I wish I had the breakthru of pronunciation so I one day will be able to interact in Ghana. Your underlining and highlighting meanings, verbs etc are very helpful! Just by pointing out that "na" denotes the statement refers to the past is huge!! Medaase, Nyame Nhyira wo.

Medaase. Do note though that, like almost all two-letter words, “na” has several other meanings. There’ll be future lessons on the two letter words.

Yaw, I really appreciate your teaching skills! I like that you give many examples; not because I can easily recall them, but rather I get exposure to common usage which builds my vocabulary. One day I'll have something to build on. Your lesson about "because" is a needed one.. Thanks. Also.. The use of "Na" to indicate reference to "the past", I will remember. If my dream comes true of marrying my fiancé, I hope to have the skill to have basic communication with "me asewbaa."

@learnakan also bro. Is it womu or omu in describing "them" like "womu se mnny3 saa. "They said don't do that?" Excuse my poor twi spellings
@learnakan
@learnakan Жыл бұрын
@@amissahp5089 there's the formal "wɔn", which is used in standard writings. And then there is the informal versions " ɔmo" or "wɔmo", usually employed in speech.

Very well explained. Na "ɛnam sɛ" nso ɛ?
@learnakan
@learnakan 3 жыл бұрын
That’s interesting Lionel. While this is also used to express because, we cannot use it in place of any of the examples given. We’ll typically use it when we say, for e.g. “because I don’t have money, someone snatched my wife from me”, but not so much the other way around, i.e. “someone snatched my wife from me because I don’t have money”. And even if we do, or not, “ɛnam sɛ” almost always goes with “nti” at the end of the clause it starts for it to be complete. e.g. “ɛnam sɛ menni sika nti…” - because I don’t have money… Maybe I’ll do a separate video on this and the flip in because constructions in general. It’s good that you brought this up. Medaase

i have been waiting to see this lesson because i was curious as to how to saw "because" in twi. but why is it that people on the street seem to use the english word "because"? i wondered whether this was because it was comparatively awkward to say it in twi. but the expressions "ɛfiri sɛ and "ɛsiane sɛ" don't seem awkward to me.

People on the street (especially of Accra) mix a lot of English in general.
