Both movies are scary at first. The more I kept on watching from time to time, part 1 is good for me now. However, part 2 still gives me chills because of the Nun. Especially when she was standing in the hallway. Another scene also gives me goosebumps when they finally hear Bill's crypted message. The chills.

Yes the warrens investigated the amityville horror. Remember at the end of conjuring 1 during the epilogue lorraine tells ed she needs to talk to him about a house in long island. i.e. amityville.

The Amityville Horror is the case Ed is talking to the Dad in the first movie, that changed Lorraine. The oldest son shot the parents, his 2 brothers and 2 sisters. They were the kids in the basement that pointed. All three Conjuring movies are actually for the most part false. I can't remember who's channel it is, but you can probably look up the truth about the conjuring and it tells about all of the ways the movies got it wrong.

Yes the Warrens were said to have a hand in the Amityville case and by the way I recommend you see both the original and the remake because they were both good movies. The actress of Janet isn't actually English and in fact is American so it's amazing that she could put on that accent also she is amazing in this movie as well. This movie is slightly more like the original story minus Valak/the nun of course. It was the most talked about case because there was lots of things that showed it wasn't real but also on the other hand there are things that show other wise. The family of course said that it was real and the girls were reunited with Laoraine on the set of this movie and that was a cute reunion to see really. Good reaction as always guys. I liked the first Conjuring more than this one and more than any of those that followed it in the franchise.

The fact that police officers said they also witnessed this made this true story really compelling here in the UK when the story broke. The film of course is so OTT but the bones of the true story are there. I hated the Amityville opening however. Its so twisted using the real murders of the Defeo family in the Amityville house. Their murders had nothinh to do with supernatural stuff, just a junkie of a son who killed them all.

Ronnie Defeo claimed that he was possessed when he did it, the family that lived there for a month then left said they experienced supernatural occurrences, and paranormal investigators felt they did as well. I don’t really believe in this stuff but there’s a ton of precedent for them to include the Amityville murders in a supernatural movie.

To me, the Conjuring movies are more scary than Insidious, because of the scenes at the end. The story might be embellished, but it is still based on a true story and those recordings and pictures prove it. Insidious is completely fictional. Oh, and La Llorona is not part of the Conjuring Universe according to the director of the movie. It has a cameo by a minor character in one of the other movies, but there is no relation to the Conjuring movies, other than that. It also has a completely different type of baddie in it with a different purpose and a different way of doing things. It's not a bad movie if it's treated as a stand alone horror movie, but it doesn't hold up as well in comparison to the Conjuring movies, because the baddie is so different. Just FYI.

The second one is hokey af. It’s the least scary of all three imo. The first one was a lot more subtle and had good buildup and the third one had a good build up of suspense + it was different and like a murder mystery. Second one leaned WAY too hard into jumpscares and went to a 10 with the activity way too quickly. also the whole crooked man thing was lame af. so glad they decided against making that movie. would have been worse than the curse of la llorona lol

If you pay close enough attention to the valak schene at the Warren's house, you will notice a small easter egg. The demons name is spelled out on the window sill the book shelf and one other place. I can't remember on the last one. But I suggest going back to that schene and checking that out.
