Mike, I think it’s interesting how you said you were not reading the Bible much at one point, considering how much time you now spend studying and reading the Word. Can you share how this transition happened? Was there something specific that caused you to have the passion that you have now for the Word?

Mike... God bless your for all of your teachings on the unhindered word and the work of the Holy Spirit in and through yourself to others. I have been so unbelievably blessed with everything I've viewed of yours. I feel as though you should repost this video as a "new video" so that people are revealed to this teaching as I have been, and possibly have their eyes opened to the issues talked about here as I have been. Considering the following you have now online, I think this video deserves more than just 20k views. May the lord bless your ministry and continue to awaken those who may have fallen asleep or haven't gotten into the word like they should, as I have been. I never realized how much of a difference it makes to actually read the Bible. I love you brother, and God bless!

We are told at Phillippians 1 v 10 "make sure of the more important things, so that you may be flawless, and not stumbling others" How can we train our conscience? Key ways are by regularly and prayerfully studying God's word the bible, meditating on what we read, and then putting into practice what we have learned. Obviously, this involves more than accumulating facts and learning rules. Our study of the bible should gradually give us an ever more precise picture of God, his personality, his qualities, his likes and dislikes. Our conscience becomes attuned of our Heavenly Father. This should stir our hearts, moving us to wanting to become more and more like him. However, if we cannot understand the conscientious decision of a fellow believer on some personal matter, we should not quickly judge the person, of feel that we ought to pressure the person to change his/her mind. Perhaps the persons conscience may be "weak" and in need of more training , or is too sensitive on certain issues. (1 Corinthians 8 v 11-12)

So, what we aren't supposed to discuss/debate issues? I feel one way. They might feel another. Most of the time me hearing someone else's arguments help me see the bigger picture. It helps me understand where I stand when my conscience is undecided. Most of the time when we know the reasons for them believing the way they do, we become understanding and less judgment. Talking through beliefs and issues help confirm my beliefs or tear down false teachings. I thought we shouldn't eat pork because of Mose's law. That's the teaching that is being taught. I thought it was a sin. Someone told me "no it's not a sin! It's more of a personal preference" which lead me to study the old covenant for myself and than lead me to more freedom than being trapped by the yoke of the law." If I hadn't had someone debate me on the issue I wouldn't have gotten a clearer conscience on the matter. I felt consciencely right with my decision to not eat pork at the time, but just because it feels right doesn't mean it is. Not sure what kind of conscience you would label it under. Weak conscience? broken conscience? I guess someone could call it having a distorted conscience. I needed Songlasses.

I find that we are not _always the same person_ day in and day out. Many factors play a role in how we feel throughout each and every day. By _not always the same person,_ I mean the way we think and handle a situation is different. Getting to know yourself can be tough because there are versions of ourselves that we do not like as much such as one considering violence as a solution. It's immediate and is direct, but understandably, the consequences can unknown and potentially negative for everyone involved as we are often _acting in the moment._ There are definitely people who are "bad" at arguing, and make a lot of fallacious arguments. It's possible they are new to it, they may be repeating an argument they heard verbatim without thinking about the words and order, and they may not be listening to your responses because they don't care or maybe have a script they are following. Challenging our views is important if we think something is wrong. We are not infallible, and often try to just know enough to get through life. For those that have the ability and time, it's good to study and question beliefs as it makes us more critical thinkers. It's not healthy to remain stagnant, and your concern about eating pork is a valid question. If you are trying to live a Christian lifestyle, and follow the words of the gospel, you want to do it right. Mike does a good job explaining the gospels, especially in his more recent and focused videos. Mind you, if you feel "internally" that it is _wrong_ to eat pork, you might consider the source. The gospels say one thing, but look at those who are vegetarians or vegans. They may use the gospel, but more often have a shared feeling that killing an animal is wrong as it would be no different from killing another person. They see animals as innocent, and undeserving of such treatment; raised to be food. So, don't fear questions, but do understand that the people we socialize with do not share one mind, your curiousity might be their fear, and you asking them questions may or may not lead to you being ousted from your social circles depending on how they view such behaviors. Good luck :)

And now I’ve learned that he cheated on her with multiple women. We have all the evidence in front of us and he still refuses to admit any of it! It tells us at Romans 9 v 1 "My conscience bears witness with me in Holy Spirit" The bible shows that the conscience is an inner capacity to look at, and evaluate our actions. It is as if a voice within us comments on whether a course is right or not. For example, this voice may speak within us beforehand as we consider whether to do something that may have moral implications. Our conscience may help us to assess a future act and suggest how we would feel if we were to carry it out. More commonly, our conscience usually comes in to play after we have have done something we know is wrong. When David was a fugitive from King Saul, David was in a position to do something disrespectful toward God's anointed King, and he did. Afterward, "David's heart kept striking him" (1 Samuel 24 v 1--5, Psalms 32 v 3, 5) The word "conscience" is not used in that account, yet that is what David felt---the reaction of his conscience. All of us have similarly felt pangs of conscience. When one acts in accord with the conscience, a sense of satisfaction and peace of mind can result.

What if you have a weak conscience that convicts you to change your conscience or that you're legalistic??? I still have insecurity about that and even praying doesn't always clear things up. I found that sometimes I may feel convicted of things for reasons that aren't extremely direct and that my conscience has been hardened to realize such as me having pride in my social anxiety when I verbally feel sorry for myself (a lot of people would say "you shouldn't feel ashamed of yourself" but to God it's wrong, especially because of pride) or me avoiding unclean meat when it's also a pride issue, earning Heaven, etc.

We will have days where our focus is like discipline, and days where our focus is blurry and we are more apt to backpedal on our ongoing or recent progress. Everyone is different, but it is good to set reminders in places you frequent at home or maybe at work. It's true what they say about shame because shame can be a toxic feeling and can cause you to beat yourself up which doesn't help you move forward and cope with the way you feel. If you are struggling to do it on your own, get support, and make sure it's people that understand you. This can take time, but the right support will uploft you and speak your language. Hope you're doing okay :)

Jose Sevilla Thank you for the encouragement! I have a few suggestions on how to witness to your family. First, know that character is at the core of your witness. It is very important that you demonstrate godly, loving, endearing and genuinely good character. It's important that, when you are discussing differences with them, you don't get frustrated or defensive but remain gentle. Galatians 6:1-2 (NKJV) 1Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 2 Timothy 2:23-25 (NKJV) 23But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, Second, I encourage you to follow the admonition in 2 Timothy to "avoid foolish and ignorant disputes". In other words, choose your battles. Before disagreeing with them ask yourself if this issue is important enough to discuss. For instance, what day they worship on is unimportant. However, thinking that worshiping on a certain day is required for salvation or that other believers are in sin if they don't is an issue worth discussing. Your goal isn't to get them to change their day of worship but to stop making it out to be a salvation issue. So be picky about what you will bother disagreeing on. Third, get well educated about the issues that are worth discussing. Spend some time understanding what they believe and why they believe it and spend even more time understanding what the Bible teaches about those things. Your goal is to become informed so that you don't misrepresent them or the Bible and to be able to communicate the things that you learn. When you are well rounded in your understanding of an issue it also helps you not to become defensive or irritable. Here is a good place to start alwaysbeready.com/seventh-day-adventism So, be an example of godly patience and kindness, categorize the issues that are worth talking about and those which aren't and be well informed enough to carefully guide them toward truth. Jose, I hope this helps you and I pray that the Holy Spirit would give you wisdom.

Jose Sevilla Unfortunately you can't control their anger and I don't think you should think you are responsible for it if you are coming to them in the right fashion. Jesus and the apostles as well as the early church faced a hateful response from others even when they did everything right. It is a burdensome dream to think that if we just say everything the right way and smile we will have the favor of those we are trying to reach with truth. I don't expect to offend no one but I do strive to be able to say "though they may be offended it is not because of some wrong on my end".

I understand all what was explained, but I still strugle knowing where's the line between not judging and allowing or being confortable with sin. Up to what point you say "I don't care, it's between you and God" or stand on a Biblical conviccion and expressing your disapproval? I have this struggle with the people who live under my same roof, profess to be Christians and allow things I believe or feel are openly and clearly against God, but if I try to say anyhting I'm taken as a legalistic who's trying to take away their liberty?

Judgements based on God's words not on how we feel. Before we come to God, we are influenced by what we have learnt from those around us, from learning institutions, parents, friends and society and books read, movies or something we heard or exposed to which society think it's OK. So it is the duty of the preachers to expose them to God's words. Don't judge people before you teach them what the bible teaches, not expect people to automatically know when they come to know God. Do not make people feel bad about things like healthy social gathering or buying something for loved one or going out for snacks occasionally or go to the beach for a walk. Our conscience will be weaken by these so called 'shepherds' and make people feel guilty when it should not be so. On the other hand, issues like false accusations, gossiping bullying and not feeling bad or apologize to others they hurt do not seen as something to even worth raising an eyebrow for. They condemn others for things already dealt with and decade has gone by. They threaten, they keep shouting and screaming away. People can do that to us when we are young Christians but as we grow we become stronger and know more of His words they still want to try their hands at it, yelling and raising their ugly heads, days and nights like the condemned devils they are. Of course those who have been shouting or screaming would not like it as their pride get into the way that they are not right all the time. Well some prophets go the other way. They do not want to admit they make mistake or not accurate in their prophecies! They add in their own words and spread rumours but do not like it when confronting. Very often being wrongly rebuke again and again can also bring pain, shame and unnecessary stress and even depressions. But people always choose to believe what they want to believe.
@BornOnThursday
@BornOnThursday 3 жыл бұрын
I would say that people do not _choose_ what to believe, though they may be in denial after thinking or speaking on the matter. It can be hard to change and the defense mechanisms of the individual, often involuntary, protect one from change. It is very important, when speaking to someone, to remain consistent and be prepared for difficult question which may require the defining of words from both parties. We use words all the time and their use may change based on who we talk to and how we use them. Some say groups or clics have _their own language,_ and this may effect how we are expressing our thoughts to another. I think it is important to humble ourselves and accept that we do not know everything about people, especially on an individual level, and generalizing can make someone feel like an unimportant, statistic or cliche. I'd say, most people, want to be known for who they are, and may even say they don't like titles as they can come with baggage and lead to less engagement with them as an individual. I have days where I feel confident, and days where I don't. If I could choose to remain confident in my beliefs, I would, but questions come up and my lifestyle could always use improvements, so I don't think that will ever change until the day I die or my mental faculties begin to fail.

If someone's conscience feels that drinking is wrong for them, should they try to make their community dry? In other words should Christians try to deny others in the community the opportunity to do things that the Bible is ambiguous about?
@theverdantwolf5402
@theverdantwolf5402 4 жыл бұрын
That's always been an issue. The Bible says to limit ourselves for the sake of the weaker brother....but....also to not judge, and to not let anyone judge you about what you eat or drink....so I'd say it shouldn't be a community prohibition but instead a personal one depending on circumstances/company, and if a person is a rabid anti drinker, pushing prohibition on others, trying to make a non issue a doctrine, including miss quoting scripture, then they need counseling. I don't drink, but I'm not going to try to tell drinkers they sin outside of church, show up to church drunk and the misquoted verses start applying, like, "do not be drunk with wine but be drunk in with the Holy Spirit"....talking about at church, love feast. He says elsewhere "some of you show up drunk", talking about why they were dying because of profaning communion. Mike has a video on his take of drinking. It's pretty good and the rest of the biblical view.

Something I heard in a sermon one time stuck with me. "Don't let your personal convictions become someone else's transgressions." Hope this helps!

I think optional education on the affects of drinking and information on how to get help is important. Many excuse bad habits because of the social acceptance of the act, and ignore the similarities to those who went into rehab before them and got help. There will always likely be an extra amount of confidence in people saying what they are and aren't. We are very complex beings and we are not always aware of those conplexities, and aim to simplify what we already know so we can live with it. Stigma will always play a role as well. If we help some and punish others, their will always be certain behaviors that have a _bad label_ on them and that label may, in some eyes, justify the punishment or mistreatment of others. Work on ourselves is important as we give and take away permission for such, but to work on others, they must request our help, and give their permission. If they are apart of a social group, they may also be more willing to hear the voices of the ones they care about and respect. New relations predicated on changing someone's attitude and behaviors can be a real challenge if we don't begin by getting to know who they think they are, and how they got there.

No, it's not. It's a sin that Jesus came to forgive and offer deliverance from.

Ezekiel 47:8 Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. Ezekiel 47:8. The corn. Then said he ( The Alpha ) unto me, ( The Omega ) These waters ( The Unconscious and the subconscious ) issue out ( The last , when the first becomes last within the end of the Omega in the unconscious ) toward the east country, ( Out of the first, when the last becomes first within, the beginning of the Alpha, in the consciousnes ) and go down ( From the east country of consciousness ) into the desert, ( of the subconscious ) and go into the sea: ( Of the unconscious ) which being brought forth ( Changing the water into wine ) into the sea, ( When the first becomes last ) the waters (Of the unconscious and the subconscious ) shall be healed. ( The waters changed into greater levels of consciousness in it’s new environment of clarity ) Revelations 2:17 The corn. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh ( The dispensation of Grace ) will I give to eat of the hidden manna ( The words in which I speak is the hidden manna, and the hidden manna is hidden in the darkness of the unknown, the unconscious that’s why the unconscious waters needs to be healed )
