Two weeks for a new European passport in Africa would have been also not too bad. By an European passport it also all depends on your nationality within Europe. In some countries you will wait certainly longer than two weeks for a new passport. Sometimes you can overcome it if you ask for an express passport for which of course you have to pay additionally. In my country, beside of asking for a second passport you can get also a passport with more pages then the usual passport has. A lot of paperwork, visa and non existing consulates are just the normal hickups when traveling in Afirca. If there are problems you also can try your luck with Office of the EU delegation in the respective country. At least they might be able to send you to an embassy of another EU country which migth be able and willing to help out. Safe journey!

Thank you for the good advise and excellent information... in Denmark 🇩🇰 normally a new passport process will take 3-5 days, express 1-2 days.... in my case, I got my passport the next day!

You might be correct... however, I've been in these situations so many times over the years working and traveling... All my alarms went on as soon as Max told me about him... I don't easily fall victim to that kind of people.
