Nintendo philosophy is taking weaker hardware to save cost so that they it easier to develop games for since the hardware is weak you don't need use all that power to make a graphical showcase which is the issue with Playstation and Xbox both chasing the trend of making powerful consoles but I say the last big jump was Xbox 360/PS3 to PS4/Xbox one and the graphics on the newer stuff look the same on the PS5/Xbox series X so unleash you want to play certain exclusive titles you don't need a next gen console

As a Nintendo loyalist, I personally enjoyed owning a Switch and a 3ds. Between Xbox and PlayStation, my brother got an Xbox One first, and I never had the desire to play the PlayStation exclusives. I mostly got the Series X as it’s backwards compatible and upgraded my brother’s Xbox One S to the Series X.

God, I grew up with the console wars in the mid-2000s and the online scene was BRUTAL. Hated the big egos driving the console wars. Thankfully, being a Nintendo fanboy, I quickly learned to just ignore the ragebait and get back to just enjoying the games. Nintendo hardware may be five years behind, and online may be lacking, but the gaming experience for single and local multiplayer never disappointed. Best memories always came from Mario Party shenanigans.

A thing I notice with these new consoles is, as you said, how big they are… I’m a strange person, as the only home console I have is the Wii U (I have the Switch Lite because I said to myself that I didn’t need another home console, which is kinda true), and like, It sits next to the TV even, a bit under it, since it’s so small compared to modern consoles. It basically doesn’t generate any heat, and the only noise it makes is the disc drive when you’re on the home menu. So I’m very happy that for the last home- only console of Nintendo, they made a small and quiet box. Just like what you said with the One S.

Stick drift is dust, lint, and other things like that built up in the controller, all you need to do is buy a cleaner. For example i play vr, and when i started getting stick drift in the controller i got something called QD Electrical Cleaner from CRC/CRS (theirs a label covering the last letter).
