This is the coffin in which we should all be buried. The coffin my mom and her siblings bought for her father, my grandfather, when he died in 1971 sold me on the type shown here. His coffin was a solid hardwood, I forget the type of wood, hand finished, furniture quality box that is in a mausoleum. It cost $1000.00, which was a lot in 1971. I was shocked, appalled and totally disgusted. I told my parents later how I felt about it and made the decision, at the age of 16, to be cremated in as cheap a container as possible and my ashes be scattered. I see coffins costing thousands of dollars today and realize they are for the mortuary to make a lot of money and make the family feel good. Hey, just deal with my remains, give me a memorial service and then go out to dinner, on me, and have fun.

I don't think all of us would fit in that coffin. It made for only one person to use.

The fanciest part of this casket is the router cut around the top. Is a pillow optional on this model?

I worked in a cemetery and crematorium for Neely 40 years and the standard got worse over the year's. Handles coming off bottom of coffin coming our and body ends up on the floor most weeks had trouble with at lest one box some fds use really cheap box's and try and get away with it ( and most times charging more for them )
