Sea of thieves suffers from the drip feeding problem. To a new player it's overwhelming but for an old player it feels like content is at a crawl. Personally I'd add: -In game lore book that updates as you interact with tall tales and the world -Dynamic npcs that have their own mini quests and schedules -Hunters call redo with an emissary, meg hunt missions, shark hunt missions, siren hunting missions, and kraken hunt missions -A new fort of the damned type activatable world event that involves getting the three types of siren gems to spawn one of those massive mermaid statues from the last pirates life tall tale and it becomes a ship fight to destroy it while ocean crawlers board your vessel -Personal pirate hideouts you can invite anyone to and can pvp with friends or just hang out (of course it's also customizable)

One of my favorite memories from Sea of Thieves was doing the Skeleton Thrones. We had a solo slooper following us around like a lost puppy, so we got him to invite one of our friends onto his crew, and we all jumped on his sloop to do all the large thrones. Six people crammed onto a sloop and trying to cannon up onto Marauder’s Arch was a blast, and it’s still fun to show newer players all the throne locations.

I don't care if Duke is evil, I want multiple stronghold kegs to cart across the map with the reaper flag up. I did enjoy the bilge rat adventures, but the mercenary voyages were also good for me when they released. Excellent content as always!

To me, the first few mercenary voyages were some of my best times in game. Up to about Dark Relics I would log on every weekend with my crew to play. I remember getting killed repeatedly on the black powder stashes missions, and going on those first missions: when we truly were loyal to the coin.The whole of the game was a fetch quest at the time, but these gave it some meaning. Although the nostalgia for the early days may impact how I feel about these updates, if Rare said they were reintroducing voyages like these: I for one would see it as a massive improvement to the game now, just as I saw it back then.

To me the best time was october to june 2019-2020. Maybe because I started playing back then but the monthly updates, the mercenary/bilge rat voyages, original festival of giving were so awesome. To me it feels like old SoT was more of a "colorful" adventure game and now it feels like a "phantom green and red" story game if you know what i mean. Edit: I hope we will return to this after the flameheart storyline or in SoT 2 if that's a thing

I really thought the new adventures were gonna be like the bilge rat adventures. I feel they could still be like that even if they just added a small permeant feature... say a new flare color or keg rowboat. Things like skelly kegs, siren statues, cursed cannonballs and colored lanterns although somewhat small features to this day are used by almost all players and they are such simple and useful things most assume they were features at launch.

I much prefer year 1 updates with Bilge Rat adventures followed by a bigger update than Seasons. Seasons typically end up being a week or two pretty good stuff which becomes stale for the rest of the 3 month period of the season. Those early days were golden. These updates are so underrated, they were simple but atleast added something new, if only i knew how common and forgotten doubloons would be eventually, I didn’t buy the bonecrusher pistol, eye of reach and the wailing barnacle dress and blunder, simply because I didn’t use said weapons at the time or didn’t like how it looked and wanted to keep the rare currency for future events.

I actually saw the skeleton thrones on accident and spent a good 5m launching myself up to one just to not be able to interact with it. seems such a simple thing to leave active, if the assets are still there.

I think it was a lot better when Doubloons were limited and not grindable. It made the currency feel special and made you want to do the events unlike everyone and their mother having 25K of them now. I felt like the event currency. It was just... Special.

They need a battle royal mode with 20 ships and the shroud is already around their island fighting for chest and Supplies. Make it similar to arena and it will bring a newer perspective on the game

Yeah.. I do miss these. -Like what would be nice is if these skeleton thrones actually had skeleton lords attached to them. Like find a note and it’ll say “kill lord McCab on this island and sit in his throne to gain his worth” and it’ll upgrade your skull from a villainous to a tall tale brigsey skull. So instead of $1K gold it’s 2-3K. -Then also with the fate of flames, we finally get a face off between the captain of flames and the partial ghost of grey marrow. An yes we do need more of these minor things added in that can give birth to future content and enhance the world.

Adventures, pirate milestones need to be done on a captain ship to track and skins more and more look like Fortnite, is what is killing the joy of the game for me. 3500 hours, played since launch and always had fun with it but now I have not done the two most recent adventures or have had the energy to get the ledger reward even. I feel they are pushing to mutch story in it that can´t be replayed and kicking in pepole that spent so mutch time on the game and can´t show off with it, but need to start again if they wanna do something with the ship.

I have the og bone set from Duke and it is no longer a sign that says hey I’m og and been here from update 1 and back then I spent hours just to get 5 doubloons of 100 that i needed for the whole set and I had to find books there was almost no way to get doubloons and I cried day and night trying all day and night to get enough doubloons for the time limited Item set and now since there is a recoller of it all my hard work went into a red version of a noob set so I don’t even where it anymore and I had no friends only enemies so it was so hard because I had to find secret locations and then spend hours trying to get there just to be sunk by a galleon but I never gave up I kept trying and I got the whole time limited set that isn’t even a sign anymore that you are og 😔 but it was also the best times for me back then I was a noob and needed help without that experience I wouldn’t have been able to do anything except die and it was also the best memories of sea of thieves and funnest times to me so it was allot harder but funner and because of me spending all my time on Duke I never got pirate legend but I got allot better

Skeleton Thrones was the biggest joke of an update considering that it was one of the first updates right after launch. There was a big need for real content to be added to the game and they add CHAIRS? I'm aware it's just an event, and it can create player interaction with some of the chairs, but the priorities of what needs to be added to the game shouldn't be on things that don't matter. Their time should be fully on making sure CONTENT gets added, instead of CHAIRS. Skeleton Thrones, gunpowder skeletons, gems... In the first months of the games release, the very first update that the game should get is a giga big content update that adds what needed to be added in the first place. This is coming from someone who firmly believes that all the updates in the first year were very overrated because NONE of them improved upon what was a glaring problem at launch: doing the same thing over and over again. There was no progression (still no progression), and no unique quests that you would unlock as you kept playing. The main game of "getting loot and turning it in" and the risk-reward gameplay that goes along with it wasn't touched on. Only the little things outside of it were. This is exactly why every single time an update comes out everyone for the first week is like, "Wow! Cool new update lets goooo!" Then a few weeks later they're like, "... Okay so when's the next update?"

Personally I think they could really spice it up if they added a new game mode. Best idea would be to make it so you can load into a server where its either only you in the server so you can experience content uninterrupted or PVP between players is disabled to encourage cooperation ☺
