I love how each module represents a different trading company while still being fresh. Sudds riddle is very gold hoarder like, clearing the haunted island has pve like an order voyage, and the shipwreck is similar to a lost shipment.

I uninstalled the game about a year ago. Came back last week and liked safer seas, so nice to do all the tall tales without the assholes. Now, however, i have done 4 high seas run and got cheaters all 4 times i watched a reaper brig turn and drive a perfect line for me from 15 grids away with islands inbetween and i was not running a flag. The other 3, people spawned on my ship with no one around. Guess ill stay on safer seas and chill.

Them releasing it on ps5 and losing players is because they aren't treating those players to a new game as a service. They think the current build is more than enough rather than keeping people involved in the game's development. That's how SoT built itself up after it's failed launch. They got a game thats done and don't get to experience it evolving, the part of SoT that's fun.

Glad they hired a 3rd party studio to make an objectively awful UI and UX. Those people got paid to make a frustrating experience with not future proofing in terms of folder / button design. The images are updated so I guess they did that well. But that's no different than updating your profile picture..

Why would you think a general trend on say the steam charts is not a good representation on the xbox. I think the ps5 would have an arguablly different trend due to its newness but i am sure xbox mirrors the steam trending

I'm really bummed about the state of the game, in theory Sea of Thieves is like my ideal game but it's just lacking so much after all this time, I really hope there will be some big announcement or a sequel to bring it back to what it could be

I really doubt that. They are working on Everwild while giving outsourcing studios such as Lucid, Sea of Thieves to maintain and come up with Seasons.

I feel like what the game needs are bug fixes and get the game to go smoothly and the cheating problem.. over getting it to an new platform. But guess the playerbase just need to bite the sour apple and deal with it.

I think its true. Remember when they initially announced that SoT will come to other plattforms... the color red indicated that Switch was also involved. The normal Switch didnt meet their hardware requirements prolly, so its pretty safe to assume it will come to Switch 2. And I will buy it for sure... handheld mode, thats all I need!

Safer seas is the best way for new players to play and enjoy. You have no idea how FRUSTRATING was for me to be a new player and the very moment I spawned into the game explore the port for less than 40 seconds before someone arrived to spawn kill me in my ship for 20 minutes before sinking me, or when I was trying to just explore the islands and have 1 big ship after me with people out for blood! Or trying to do tall tales thinking it would make it so a**holes wouldn't bother me only to find they would bother even more if I told them I was doing tall tales. The issue with the game isn't the pvp but the player population of which 85% are a**holes looking for victims to troll. If you see all of the sea of thieves KZbinrs 98% of them are nothing but worthless pieces of sh*t bullying new players and ruining their experiences like if by annoying new players into abandoning the game will make the game more alive. People seeking safer seas are the same people who are being bullied, the same people who are casuals who can't spend 20 hours a day developing the pvp skills to be competitive, people who just want to navigate the seas with friends and once they are used to the game set a flag for pvp and start hunting but unable to EVEN LEAVE THE FKN PORT!

It's all working as intended. This is another adrenaline push to get the heart going again. While never fixing the health issues that are causing your player base to leave.

I don't think we'll ever get a sequel for SoT but I could see an engine port + major expansion in the works. Like what if we got a UE5 engine update + a mainline TT story like SoG (but this time all about Flameheart and the war of SoT). Realistically it would feel like a sequel but they could keep the map, story, and everything else the same.

They need to make seasons not 4 months long and a lot more people wouldn’t stop playing. Every other games seasons are usually 2 months rarely 3, but 4 is way too long

Previous month Emissary Ledger leaderboards are a better representation of total players per month as it gives you a count of active players that engaged with the game in some capacity (Set Sail > Raise Emissary > Turn in some loot) if you have a broad count of people on your friends list who still engage with the game, you can check the people furthest down the Gold Hoarders Emissary (The Emissary most engaged with) and get a better picture of players per month actually engaged with the game. Last month the furthest person on my Friends list down was in the 300,000's, which tells you the game had at least 300k players actively playing the game during the previous Ledger period.

Sot should not go to Nintendo. It needs to stop updating and go into maintenance mode in 2026. I LOVE sot but they need something new at this point. I think rare and the players deserve a fresh start on either a new sot game like sot 2, or a new IP like ever wild

A lot of negative people in the comments right now. Didnt you hear him say that they are possibly working on other things whence the delays and accuracies in fixes? Im so done with negative people coming to Sea of Thieves videos and commenting dumb things. Gee I guess at least I'm still having fun!

just because you're having fun does not mean everyone else is, or that people dont have a valid reason to complain and be negative, people are probs getting sick of them making stupid decisions like this and not actually prioritizing the communities wants, instead making decisions that lead to the game suffering without fresh content for months, people are intitled to complain, especially at this company that have pulled this very same thing of having a content drought before for ages, complaints and brutal honestly are the only way this game is going to have any chance of making it to next year, this is coming from someone who has thousands of hours in the game, i've been playing since the very early days of this game and it used to be my absolute favorite game, it really sucks seeing it in this state thats its been in for awhile now. what the game needs is a new region to explore, more diverse fun missions, another faction, new sea beasts to encounter at sea and fight, new tall tales, more good story building or honestly at this point just a 2nd game to start over fresh, its needed that for a very long time now but instead they have focused on trying to bring new audiences to a dying game leaving all the current players with scarps to last off, the game today is just about bringing in as many people as they can and hoping they spend money in the emporium 🤷‍♀

And we are sick of the constant RARE Bootlicking when it has drove this game to the ground. Losing player base the last 2 years like never before. NOT BECAUSE the game is 'old' but because it's poorly maintained. Congrats on them for releasing a patch or two recently that helps with the games performance. Took them 7 years to do so in upgrading their servers running off a single Core CPU... And the game still runs like dogwater despite it...

I don't understand - why all the attempts to capture new players when they should just do the necessary improvements/maintenance that would keep the current players around? If they did that, satisfied players would get their friends involved and the player base would not only be steady, it would increase - and once the footing is solid, THEN they try new consoles... But all they're doing now is trying to bring in new players who don't have a firm foundation of love for the game, they'll see the flaws, get turned off, and never come back.

Sure, it might be a boost in revenue during the initial launch of a new port… But the player drop-off shortly afterwards is staggering compared to what could be happening if they would spend their time fixing the game instead of trying to add more to it… the game needs players to stay… The whole philosophy of the traveling circus that moves to a different town once they can no longer bamboozle the old town is ridiculous

They can cash in using ports. Obviously they're making Everwild, and if another sequel/major expansion/engine update is in the works then they are probably losing quite a lot of money with no way to make it back. Therefore make a couple of ports, get new people on the game, and then once it's time to ship the new thing they already know who you are.

There is still Everwild …maybe. I want something new and fresh from Rare. The 2019 trailer was too early, MS probably demanded projects to show. SoT and Unreal Engine 4 really seem to be at the breaking point after 8 years of content updates. 8 years is a pretty good run.
