ngl some seasons like season 13 were so ass that i wouldn't mind them just removing the season's features like the burning blade. The burning blade in my opinion was a huge failure that just wastes server performance. Just imagine the servers without the burning blade, they'd be much better immediately, along with the removal of other useless things like the skull of siren song for example.

The only thing that can save SoT is a character creation or better pirate generator

Legend of the Oars. I am known among my friends as the Rowboat God because of the incredible feats I have pulled off on the best ship in the game. The only way I'd change it is if they ever add another rowboat related title that is actually hard to get, like imagine rowing 1000 nautical miles giving you something like "Oar Omnipotence"

My thoughts on this as a veteran player who is helping new players achieve their goals this is quite handy not only for doing Tall Tales but for doing other commendations that are a pain in the ass in high seas. For example you can do gold hoarders voyages and open vaults to get the commendations, you can still complete other Voyage commendations as well as completing breath of the sea commendations. I view safer Seas as a place to grind for commendations and not for gold. Even though you can't get every Commendation done there are still a lot of them you can get done in a nice quiet environment. And like I said as a person helping newer players this is a handy place to help new players learn the fundamentals and controls of the game before hopping into a sweaty server. One person I was helping start out, we played in safer Seas for about a day or so and then the next time I load in on him he's in high seas on his own with the confidence to want to play in a high seas server and he was actually doing very well. To me it's a very welcome addition especially for new players.

I have like 300 hours in game. I do not get what you all bragging abt. Hit reg is fine, like yes, I miss 1 in 100 shots probably because of it, what are other problems? Game is not lagging even with all stuff possible being done, ships fighting, events being done at the same time and everything works fine. Have not seen a cheater for a long time. Ships having desire to fly? That shit's funny as hell. Toxicity? Oh no, being called bad words on internet. Yeah, they changed how accomodations are being taken, you do not need to buy missions, that was in my opinion nice thing, going to outpost to buy and only then do 3 missions of fraction. But other than that what the hell is wrong? Bunch of clowns looking at working game trying to find stuff to whine about

I really wouldn't want a second game, I have put so much work into my pirate and have done many hard challenges, I would NOT want to do that again in another game and it would ruin my drive to play

People hated when overwatch did it because blizzard oversold the idea and didn't deliver on 80% of their promises. the issue with OW2 isn't that it's the same game on a new engine, it's terrible design, not delivering on the PVE horde shooter they promised and sold the entire idea with and over pricing skins

3:36 - Overwatch before and after the switch to 2 was a functioning game. Same with CSGO/CS2. That's why people didn't really care or ask for a "sequel". Sea Of Thieves is not in the same boat. It's a broken mess. Something needs to change. Even if they're somehow able to fix the game on the current engine, that's not enough to bring players back. It needs a massive marketing campaign, and clearly slapping a 2 on it works lol

I honestly hate the pvp man on man in this game. And i hate that its so focused on it. I like the ship combat alot. But then when someone boards you it turns into mario brothers cause the guy thinks there is a mushroom over his head. Its a fun game. But the jump spamming kinda ruins it for me. Feel like frickin fortnite and i really dislike that. Takes a ton away from the pirate experience when you hear level 1 playing as they're jumping around you ship like a crack head.

I sat f it, yes I have a lot of shit for my pirate. But if I bought a new game had everything I had in the other game I’d get board real fast just like I did with OW2, I think a clean slate would be fun.

Rare its a bunch of devs garbage..i dont even know to this day,how this dudes came up with this game!!true incompetents, every update they brake more the game..game was very promising,but its just a bunch of bad codding and glitches..and emporium greedyness..

It's a bit off a pickle. I really don't think much can be done. Drop old gen, lose over half off your support. Upgrade the servers or give it a sequel and you have a smite 2 problem. Were non or barely any off the old cosmetics is brought over. Rebalancing old content I don't think will work cause players will always find a better way to do anything. I personal don't know what could be done, no matter what they do they lose massive support for the game

"Playing a whole 20 hours to get to pirate legend".. man this game has changed a lot since launch

I got on sea of thieves with a friend of mine yesterday for the first time in like a month and a half. And they added the traps finally but they're useless because you place them and they despawn within minutes. You can hang on the side of the ship which is interesting but if you do it on a skeletonship they walk right over to you and blunder. You off immediately. Tried to use a harpoon to board enemy ships. It freaked out so badly. There was a thousand ropes and I phased through everything and ended up on the other side of the ship I was trying to board. I tried to grab a ladder, got pushed through the ship onto the other ladder and then dropped into the water. The water still has multiple layers and won't let you surface half the time. Seems like every time I get on this game is more of a mess and I'm not a hater. I've been playing this game for years. I've been here since the betas

Hear me out: 1) If they do a SoT 2, it should be for engine and stability improvements. 2) it should also do things like - move Tall Tales into SaferSeas, pull your pirate data from SoT 1, update the menus and add sorting filters / search bars so you can browse through your cosmetics and ship livery in a fraction of the time. 3) have a primary goal of being able to add one or two (three at most) more crews to the server because what we have now really isn’t enough. 4) all clothing should be able to be re-colored (by perhaps the use of dyes) - but the functionality would be super simple to implement (think of VRising’s palette-picker for how they do recoloring of their clothing). 5) MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: do NOT make any drastic changes to the layout to the map! I mean, if that NEEDS to happen, then make sure to keep all of the islands looking the same because they are one of the primary ingredients of the charm of the game. 6) change the skybox colors for The Wilds, Devils Roar, FotD, Reaper island, etc, to all be unique skyboxes and colors instead of having 3:5ths of the map being dull and gray all the bloody time.

They could fix the game by taking a priority on island design. Dont get me wrong, they're VERY pretty, but they just feel like set dressing, not a lived on island. The pieces are there, but it feels artificial. The second big space to work on: the sea. My crew intentionally tried to get into trouble, krackens and sharks, skeletons and ghosts, we fought as much as possible. But there would be anywhere from 10 minutes to a half an hour of sailing in a straight line, no monsters in the water, no interesting events, it just feels like a prolonged loading screen. Sometimes you DO get a surprise pirate ship that sails head first into a rock, gets stuck, never to be seen again. Or you get a shark right next to an island, you get just enough time to see it flee as you can't turn fast enough to keep it in aggro going towards the island. And i haven't seen a kracken since a certain streamer gave me a fun sailing adventure! And some dang good christmas coffee. Oh, and skins are not remotely interesting as unlockables. Let me reinforce my ship or add attatchments to it. A claw to drag loot off the seafloor maybe? Tl;dr: the islands feel like set pieces and the sea is more often than not boring. Interesting, unique mechanics are needed, more dangerous waters required Pvp is not a solution, by the way.

I don’t think this game is saveable. Lots of bugs are still present, server performance is absolutely terrible, and cheaters are still rampant. I have quit Sea of Thieves for the foreseeable future, unless they do some serious reworks that actually work.

Rare is trash. abosulute shit. in other games if you play 10vs10 you play 10vs10, in this game you select galleon with 4 players, but you have only 2 players and you need to wait 20-30 minutes till someone will join. they join and if you are fighting someone they probably will stay in your crew, but if you just sailing they will leave 100%. i need to leave game and restart it again like 100 times till i find someone who really wants to sail and do something. Also cheaters with aimbot are everywhere, shooting killing you without aiming or even looking at you. so many bugs and shit in this game, 8 times of 10 its unplayble trash. what i really love is game genre, its really unique and fun, but everything else is just a nightmare and negative emotions.

The problem with a sea of thieves 2 in my opinion is primarily the threat of lost progression. Sea of thieves has only cosmetics to work for, but these cosmetics is locked behind commendations and when it’s the only thing you can grind for, they have to adjust them. This leads to some commendations being very, VERY long and grindy. I personally have unlocked legendary sea dog for the weapons in arena, and I have unlocked the golden bones curse all solo, that is a LOT of time down the drain. I am not a stranger to the idea and kinda looks forward, but some parts of me still won’t give in to the full excitement. I think if and only if sea of thieves 2 would be the solution they at least make it so you don’t lose your cosmetics and commendation, but instead introduce a new sea of thieves world with new things to grind for and experiences’ to have, without saying goodbye to all your time investment ⛵️🤩

At the end of the day: Sea of Thieves is a hardcore game & most players are casual players. Playing a session of this game is a marathon of multiple hours when so many other games are quick 15-20 minute sessions. If there is a sequel in the works I hope they take this into account.

SoT2 definitely makes sense but they need to fix their internal issues as well. They can't release a game that is buggy, missing content, or a worse product than the original. Also in SoT's case transfering cosmetics, at least "legendary" ones would be important. I mean losing like some shitty belt is whatever but losing level 500 skeleton curse cosmetics would suck.

I'm not so attached to my cosmetics that it would hinder my embrace of a sequel. The stories around the cosmetics were more valuable to me. There's so many cosmetics now that you can put on hella rare sails or limited-time cosmetics and nobody will even notice unless it's a pvp curse. People used to ask me about the gold curse, umbra's tattoos, hungering tattoos, TSD, wandering reaper, etc. Now, there's just apathy. No one knows, no one cares. I don't get to share my stories like I used to anymore. So, from my point of view: nuke it. Make a sequel, give the veterans 1-2 exclusive cosmetics (equivalent to Brave Vanguard in SOT 1), and start fresh.
