I stay at the DoubleTree By Hilton on Soi 2... previously It was called The Majestic Grande...just so happened that's where I was staying anyway but when Hilton took the Majestic Grande over I was in luck as I'm a Hilton Diamond Honors member...so I got free breakfast and stuff...so that's my hotel of choice in Bangkok. Plus, it holds so many special memories for me. My two best friends who stayed at the hotel when it was The Majestic Grande both tragically died...so when I stay there I always think about my two best friends.

I usually stay at the St. Regis Bangkok. Sometimes I use my Marriott Bonvoy points there.

I stay at the Ibis Siam (the one you pointed out is combined with the Mercure in the same building). Nice and modern, clean, strong wifi, big room, excellent location with a 7-eleven in the lobby for only $35 USD a night. Can't beat it.

Hey, good video. Myself, partner and some friends stayed at this hotel back in 2016 and it was showing signs of wear and tear back then. Great location, great price and wonderful staff. Also, I remember the lifts having a mind of their own and taking forever 😂. We’re back in Thailand in a few weeks and will be staying at the standard so will go and watch that video now, thanks.

In hotel rooms way up high, I notice that in the morning you can clearly see a layer of smog close to the ground in the distance and clearer air above it. Pretty interesting to see such a big visual difference in the air but only from a distance though. I notice this in Manila (where the air pollution is pretty bad - diesel jeeps and buses) but maybe it's also visible in Bangkok.

The Continent Bangkok hotel room seems to be bigger, better and cheaper than comparable hotel rooms in downtown Toronto or Vancouver. Good deal.

Hi Johnny liked the hotel but agree the place has potential to be a lot better, fantastic city views and many plusses but that lift definitely needs a course of steroids. Of course, upgrades to room and general decor would undoubtably result in price increases so given the many positive aspects of the hotel and the reasonable pricing it seems like a fair choice.
