When you sold the bales, did you notice that you sold grass bales, not silage. You need to wait for fermentation, then you’ll get quadruple price.

Was that right? I hadn’t noticed that, I guess it doesn’t matter for the contract but makes sense to hold on to any extras, good spot 👍

When you do contracts, the silage is instantaneous, you don't need to wait for the grass to ferment (the magic of FS). When you bale your own fields, you do have to wait. When the bales are strapped, it shows you in the bottom right if it's grass or silage, and it was silage (19:28). The low price maybe because he is on hard economy and/or the date of selling.

Yup I have in fact, bale spikes are used on silage wrapped bales all the time in the Uk, the holes are so small they have zero impact on the fermentation process.

The TW15 is my own convert (with a bit of help) the bale grab is part of the CSZ pack in the modhub

Yes it is, they are used all the time in the UK

@@TheFarmSimGuyMaybe when the have fermented - not before. Unless you tape it up - the grass will rot instead of fermenting. Read up on the fermenting proces - oxygen needs to be kept away from the process. That’s also why they compact the silage in a silo before they cover it.
