To analyze whether a person had a sexually driven character, we should look at how that person has spent his/her life when he/she was at his/her sexual peak (presumably 15 and 50 for men). When Prophet Muhammad was in that age group, he remained fiercely loyal to his wife (Khadija). All of his marriages after Khadija took place after her death when he was 50+ years old. In fact, when he was 40 years old and announced that he had received revelation, the meccans tried to lure him by offering best of women in their land, wealth, and leadership BUT he said that even if you (meccans) put sun in my right hand and moon in my left hand, i will not compromise my mission. If he had any desire of women, wealth and power he would have taken advantage of that offer when he was 40 (presumably at his peak age). There is NO ONE in the history of the world who can show him the candle on how to treat women in general (as sisters, daughters, mothers, wives, acquaintance, stranger), His attitude and treatment of women bears a very high standard for the entire world to emulate.

@Brave Soul Yes they were all genuine, and all his marriages were such that it gives Muslims and Non-Muslims alike a lesson of virtue He did not prioritize his worldly desires and lust. He wanted to provide for women and spread happiness. He married former captives, married widows, married divorcees, and out of all his wives, Aisha was the only virgin he was commanded to marry, and it was glorious!

@Brave Soul Your Source : none Also Prophet Muhammad's marriage to Zaynab is not a bad one. She was the wife of a sponsored orphan, who divorced her, and then married the Prophet There is no such thing as adoption in Islamic law when practiced in a nation. You simply sponsor an orphan and he retains his original and legitimate identity and lineage. It is not prohibited to marry a divorcee of such a person. Moreover, the virtues we can learn from their marriage is the way the Prophet treated her throughout his life. He was a pious man who always strived to maker her happy and fulfilled, and like his other wives, Zaynab became an established scholar for the Muslims until the time of her death. This is just one lesson out of many from the other marriages. Prophet Muhammad had no concubines. You are wrong in this idea. Also, your question about lust is already answered by me.

Well, except we know from a hadith that he still had the sexual prowess of 40 men, _in his sixties._ Aisha herself mentioned that she was so awestruck by his beautiful appearance (a man over 40 years in age gap) that, were she stabbed in the heart with a knife she probably wouldn't have realized it. He was a bit of a real hunk so why skirt around the issue? There is no shame in acknowledging the idea that the islamic prophet was a real man's man.

We're not calling Mohammed "our father" why should we call his wives our mothers. You even can't surely say how many wives he had , some sources say 13, some 21 or 23, others say 11. I was reading St Augustine's _Confessions_ last night, which is one of the greatest and most frequently read works of Christian literature. It's also a great literary masterpiece. However, I came across a most intriguing passage. "Nevertheless, pressure for marriage continued [from his mother], and the girl who was asked for was almost two years under the age for marriage [under Roman law the minimum age for marriage was 12]. But she pleased me, and I was prepared to wait" (Augustine, Confessions, xiii. 23). Here we see the difference between the ancient and modern world during sexuality. Augustine was prepared to get married to a girl when she turned 12 and was attracted to her at the age of 10 ("she pleased me"). This shows that it was normal in the ancient world to marry young girls. Of course, I am pleased that the law has now changed, but in the ancient world things were very different.

Aisha age was only 9 years old and she had not reached puberty yet according to Islam. So she was not married to Mohammed according to Jewish tradition and nowhere in the Bible is it shown that marrige to children is approved. Mohammed married a divorced women which according to Christianity is adultery and that certainly is not acceptable. Begotton as mentioned in John 3:16 means unique or one of kind. So tell me why do you believe that following Mohammed who was a child rapist and adulterer will get you to heaven?

Jonathan AC Brown is simplifying the issue somewhat (no doubt given a strict word count). It is worth noting that there are other branches of hadith scholarship which set Aisha's age as considerably older on the basis of her being reported present at specific battles. Another academic angle is to note that Zarathustrianism marriage ritual held the ages of 6 and 9 as especially significant, and that it is impossible to completely rule out this influence within newly Islamicised lands given the preponderance of adulterated 'israeliyyat' hadith with obvious Christian and Jewish scriptural influences - far from being conspiratorial or in bad faith, this could simply be similar to the significant age of '40' being deployed in ancient times in a less than scientifically scrupulous manner; a turn of phrase. From a strictly academic, historical perspective then, the age of Aisha remains an open question. Within Brown's personal practice of the Islamic faith, the majority opinion of traditional scholars is that the hadith is to be taken at face value. Nothing wrong with that. But given the book series and its largely non-Muslim, Western readership, I am surprised that he didn't take a more academic approach and acknowledge the various other views on the matter; particularly considering its importance to today's society, and its being low hanging fruit for critics as enabling child abuse today. Anyway he is a great writer and I very much enjoy his work, I shall try to get this one, as perhaps this passage was subject to other methodological qualifiers earlier in the book.

I agree with you and here is an example: Narrated 'aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) I had seen my parents following Islam since *I attained the age of puberty* . Not a day passed but the Prophet visited us, both in the mornings and evenings. My father Abu bakr thought of building a mosque in the courtyard of his house and he did so. He used to pray and recite the Qur'an in it. The pagan women and their children used to stand by him and look at him with surprise. abu bakr was a Softhearted person and could not help weeping while reciting the Quran. The chiefs of the *Quraish pagans* became afraid of that (i.e. that their children and women might be affected by the recitation of Quran)." ( *Bukhari Book* #8, Hadith #465) Aisha describe herself as over *puberty in Mekkah* , at least 2 years before her marriage in Medina.

This allegation is refuted already by many Muslims . People say that prophet muhammad was oppressing Aisha blah blah .. but just one Qur'an verse refute that claim. O Prophet! Say to your wives, “If you desire the life of this world and its luxury, then come, I will give you a ˹suitable˺ compensation ˹for divorce˺ and let you go graciously. ( Qur'an 33:28) if Aisha was oppressed , then why didnt she used this golden opportunity to escape from the Prophet even tho Prophet is offering her . from this 2 things are clear 1. Aisha loved the Prophet and wanted to stay with him 2. Prophet was not oppressive and he loved her and he was a good husband . ( If he was oppressive , why would he even bring this verse up ? )

Look up the marriage of Isabelle of France and Richard 2 of England. She was 6 years old in some sources. You can look at many marriages of the Royals in Europe at the time of the middle ages. Some married very young to forge political unions like between the french and the english etc. It had a functionnal purpose When the Prophet peace and blessing be upon him would marry it was likely that many in the tribes of his wife would also convert to Islam and the Muslims would get a new political ally

The fact that pedophilia (Sexual immorality towards the under-aged) was considered a cultural norm and not a sin for even a prophet of God, shows just who was made in the image of whom. For if the "holy prophet" was able to receive righteous instructions from God for all man-kind, and yet not able to subjectively discern that pedophilia was morally wrong because of the norms of the day, then we can categorically say that his God was made in man's primitive image of his day.

There exist only a few narrations of the age of Hazrat Ayesha’s marriage at age six, while many more verified and authentic references indicate she was in her mid to late teens. Several historical events and ahadith narrations demonstrate that Hazrat Ayesha(ra) was likely fifteen or sixteen or as old as nineteen or twenty at the time of her consenting marriage to Prophet Muhammad(sa). Hazrat Ayesha(ra) was the daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakr(ra). Tabari reports, “All four of [Abu Bakr’s] children were born of his two wives…during the pre-Islamic period [i.e., pre-610 AD].” Hazrat Ayesha’s marriage to Prophet Muhammad(sa) took place one year after Hijra (emigration to Medina), or around 624 AD. Therefore, even if Hazrat Ayesha(ra) had been born as late as 609 AD, only a year before Prophet Muhammad(sa) claimed prophethood, she would have been roughly fourteen at the time of emigration to Medina in 623 and therefore no less than fifteen at the time of her marriage to Prophet Muhammad(sa). This is a far cry from the age of six that critics assert. Likewise, most historians report that Hazrat Asma(ra), Hazrat Ayesha’s elder sister, was ten years her senior. The books Tahzibut Tahzib and Al-Bidaayah wa an-Nihayah both report that Hazrat Asma(ra) died at the age of one hundred, in 73 AH (695 AD). This means that Hazrat Asma(ra) must have been no younger than twenty-seven at the time of emigration. Hazrat Ayesha’s marriage to Prophet Muhammad(sa) was in 1 AH or by some sources 2 AH, when Asma was twenty-eight. This means that at a minimum, Hazrat Ayesha(ra) was eighteen or nineteen upon her consenting marriage to Prophet Muhammad(sa). Had Prophet Muhammad(sa) engaged in any unbecoming behaviour, no shortage of critics existed during his lifetime. Likewise, Zainab(ra) was Prophet Muhammad’s cousin and he had ample opportunity to marry her before her marriage to Zaid was even a nascent possibility. It is baseless to allege that his infatuation for Zainab(ra) somehow spontaneously emerged only after her marriage. Some of the Holy Prophet’s marriages were in order to wipe out certain prevailing evil customs and practices. For example, there was a common practice that an adopted son was considered equal to a biological son, and as such, was entitled to equal civil liberties, while the other close relatives were ignored and their rights were neglected. Islam drew the line between blood relations and adopted children, and gave them proper rights as they deserved. In order to make the difference between the real children and the adopted ones clear, the Holy Prophet(sa) married Hazrat Zainab(ra), the divorced wife of Hazrat Zaid, a freed slave and the adopted son of the Holy Prophet(sa). This way he established the correct status of an adopted child. Previously, it was not allowed to marry the widow or the divorced wife of the adopted son. The Holy Prophet(sa) eliminated racial, ethnic, cultural, tribal and national distinctions and prejudices through his marriages. Some of the marriages of the Holy Prophet(sa) were to unite his followers with different clans and tribes in mutual love and affection. At this time, divorced women were looked down upon as inferior in status and were usually not allowed to remarry. By marrying a divorced lady, the Holy Prophet(sa) taught that such a marriage is not only lawful but also desirable to grant a divorced woman an honourable status in the society.

@Brave Soul First off I hope you actually read that essay, I’ve seen this experience where I recommend these to people but then they act like they didn’t even read them. Which authentic Hadiths did you see where she said she hates him? This seems contradictory to their relationship which you can see more so discussed in FullMetalTheist’s video “The End of the Pedophile Argument”. Second, if she did criticize him, what was it for? And, criticism is not a sign of an inherently bad relationship or that one of the parties involved in that relationship are evil. Criticizing your partner is important when necessary no matter the relationship you’re in. Every relationship has times when lovers constructively criticize each other, but depending on how strong that relationship was initially as well as the future implications/effects of it, they can decide on whether or not they will continue to love eachother and stay together. Criticism doesn’t necessitate evil, that’s the main point.

It should be pointed out that some scholars, albeit in minority, but nonetheless with strong evidence and historicity, have pointed out that the age of Ayesha (ra) was much older. Among them, Javaid Ahmed Ghamidi (JAG). He has also argued that prophet's marriages in the regular sense, namely between a man and a woman, rather than of tribal and other ceremonious nature, were only two, with Khatija (ra) and Ayesha (ra).

Incredible video! Thank you for your efforts. I also want to give a perspective and explain some thing I have read: The feature of the period mentioned in the Hijaz region in the dictionary is “In the Arab tradition, the age of girls was counted after they begin puberty. The puberty age is also considered to be between 11 and 13 years old.” Therefore, The narration that Aisha got married at a young age can be explained as follows: If it is accepted that Aisha was going through puberty at the age of 11-12-13, 11 years + allegedly married 9 years = 20 real age at marriage. 12 years + allegedly married 9 years = 21 actual age at marriage. 13 years + allegedly married 9 years = 22 real age at marriage. In other words, according to Ma'luf, the real age of marriage is 20-21-22 years. source: Louis Ma’luf, “El Müncid Fi’l Lügati’l ve’l Ulûmu” Beyrut, 1956, s. 331. In addition, according to the Arab tradition of the period, girls could be killed until they reached the age of puberty. However, once they became sane and start the age of puberty, they could not be killed. If they were killed after the start of puberty, the girl's family had to pay blood money to the Dar'unnedve Court. Because of this, St. If we add the 9th age of marriage in the narrations to Aisha's puberty age, it turns out that the age of marriage was in the 20s, that is, in the youth period. Hope this clarified some things. Again, thank you for the video :D May Allah bless you

@@unspecifiedworld7077 All of the Quran is at best only what Mohammed recited. So in verse 170 Mohammed tells us that he is a messenger who has come with the truth from God. But as there is no evidence that Mohammed was a prophet of God, why should I believe the claims made by Mohammed? Then in verse 171 Mohammed says that Jesus was just a messenger of God. Problem with that is Jesus tells us in the Gospel that Jesus and God are one which means that Jesus says that He is God. So if Jesus is God then Mohammed insults God by calling Jesus just a prophet. On the other hand if Jesus is not God, then Jesus saying that He and God are one makes Jesus a liar and a blasphemer which means that Mohammed insulted God by calling a liar and blasphemer a prophet of God. Either way Mohammed insulted God when he called Jesus just a messenger of God. So how can someone be a prophet of a God who he insults? If you really want to know the truth read the Gospel of Jesus the Messiah, you can get it in any major language you want. Remember our God of the Bible is Almighty and is not restricted to Arabic.

@@johnzuma4688 I believe he means "The History of Joseph the Carpenter" (or Historia Josephi Fabri Lignari). This 4th century Coptic book mentions that Mary was 12 yrs old upon her betrothal to Joseph (§1.4). This particular text, however, is more than likely a copy of the story found in the earlier "Protevangelium Jacobi" which also states that Mary was 12 yrs old when she was married to Joseph. Admittedly, these are not Biblical sources, but they do serve as a window into the popular imagination of the Christians living within the first 3 centuries of the common era. These books are a part of Christian literature, commenting upon and elaborating on the New Testament. It's noteworthy that these Christians embraced the idea that Mary was married at 12 yrs of age. And that's the point - > In order for a Christian to criticize Muhammad's marriage to a very young Aisha, the Christian must first rule out the possibility that his own religion allows for child marriage. It would be entirely hypocritical for a Christian to condemn child marriage, if the Bible is perfectly OK with it. And the examples from these non-canonical books tell us, at the very least, that early Christians believed that Mary "could have been" 12 yrs old when she was married. In reality, she need not have been that young. Broadly speaking, it is irrelevant whether or not any one particular bride in the Bible was - in fact - a child. Rather, it is sufficient that she "could have been." Or in other words, if Joseph had wanted to marry a 12 year old girl, nothing in the Torah etc. would have stood in his way. Quite simply, a Christian can't take the moral high ground against Muhammad as long as child marriage is consistent (even in the slightest degree) with the Bible. And, in order to show that child marriage is inconsistent with the Bible, a Christian would need to do more than demonstrate that this or that bride was not - in fact - a child. The Christian needs to show that no such bride could ever have been a child, and that the judgment of God would come for such a "devil's matrimony," if it were done.

From Wikipedia: Throughout Islamic history, slaves served in various social and economic roles, from powerful emirs to harshly treated manual laborers. Early on in Muslim history slaves provided plantation labor similar to that in the early-modern Americas, but this practice was abandoned after harsh treatment led to destructive slave revolts,[2] the most notable being the Zanj Rebellion of 869-883.[3] Slaves were widely employed in irrigation, mining, and animal husbandry, but most commonly as soldiers, guards, domestic workers,[2] and concubines. Many rulers relied on military slaves (often in huge standing armies) and on slaves in administration - to such a degree that the slaves could sometimes seize power. Among black slaves, there were roughly two females to every one male.[2] Two rough estimates by scholars of the numbers of just one group - black slaves held over twelve centuries in the Muslim world - are 11.5 million[4] and 14 million,[5][6] while other estimates indicate a number between 12 and 15 million African slaves prior to the 20th century.[7]

If we understand 99% of Islam is the truth, and if 1% of it is something that our knowledge still can not fully understand...than it is because we are only a human with so many limitation.

I have not heard any Christian ever mentioning about the first wife of prophet Muhammad who was much older than prophet Muhammad and was a widow. Even a homeless poor man wants his first wife to virgin and younger but prophet Muhammad having the opportunity to Mary young virgin girl chosen to Mary older widow. All of his wives except Aisha, were widow or divorced proves that prophet Muhammad did not have weakness for women like man generally has. Marriage of Aisha was Devine decision of God .
Why do the Bible and Qur'an differ about the Prophets?
