Haha, you're right! I totally missed that, and I think it's because I was so comfortable putting files in there while modding DS3, that I forgot to do my due diligence on where to install these mods that use the new modloader_2. Great catch, thank you! That could be why weird, small glitches have been occurring for people. I will pin this comment and for anyone having trouble, try downloading the convergence mod files (from its downloader) to the desktop or a different accessible folder instead of into the game files. From what the description says, the .bat file should work outside the game folder, so for anyone with all the files already placed, you can just try moving the entire "ConvergenceER" folder out of your game folder and onto your desktop. Then keep the rest of the files where I specify in the video. Good luck!

getting the convergence bat on your desktop is easy. Just right click, create shortcut, pull it on your desktop, (For my keepsake I also changed the name to "Elden Ring Convergence", and I also downloaded an elden ring icon, and changed it(Take note, that the file you download is a .ico or .icon))

My convergence mod doesn't even want to start by itself, only gives a brief terminal prompt with only the user line before disappearing (task manager shows it ends immediately). I've tried everything from reinstalling the whole convergence mod folder from Nexus, reinstalling the game itself, running both the convergence launcher/launchmod as admins, tried to put the folders in or out the game, everything fails to help me in any way. I have checked for about 5 hours total on reddit, steam, youtube, etc and have found nothing that works. If anybody has any pointers as to what I could do next, please notify me.

Update ModEngine. I had same issue with you, and it worked perfectly. All you need to do is just copy everything in the updated modengine folder and paste it into Convergence folder.

@JoeyIsGaming: I know this sounds silly but the thing you're supposed to click and run as administrator inside the Convergence Mod folder to launch the game, try running it normally, just double click it like you would any other thing. I was struggling getting the game to launch too and tried every possible solution on the internet with no luck. Then when I tried launching it NOT as admin it worked just fine. Which is funny since everything on the internet tells you to specifically launch as admin. I hope it works for you

So this worked great when I first made a character. Ran smooth, no problems. Then I exited to the main menu to make a new character and it immediately crashes to desktop whenever I try to pick my origin. It also immediately crashes when I click load game or continue. I can do any other part of character creation, I can even click on origin, but as soon as a try to scroll down to a different origin it crashes. Super annoying because it worked so flawlessly at first and it's an amazing mod. Anyone have any ideas? The crash is the same with the Convergence folder in the game folder or on my desktop.

i had the same issue, what fixed it for me is moving my saved data (or rather renaming the folder) so press windows+r, type "%appdata%" without the quotation marks, go to the EldenRing folder, and rename the folder called like "765611...." and add something like "_OLD" or "_BACKUP" to the end, as long as the name of the folder is different to what it was. next time you boot the game you will have to accept license agreements and sort out brightness/sound settings again but the issue should be fixed

Hello! I sadly can not provide too much help without seeing everything first hand, but a good way to set it up without worry is to backup your save files (type %appdata% into the Windows search bar to find them) and reinstall the game. From there, try the process of installing the mods again, except keep the ConvergenceER files out of the game folder --- opting instead to just have them downloaded to your desktop or a different accessible folder. I mistakenly put them it in the game folder, and although it still works for some (me included), it may be causing small glitches for others. I hope that helps!

Hey! That is a really weird glitch, and not one I've experienced or dealt with. Two things I think you could do are (1): Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game and then reinstalling the mods to see if it works out any bugs. And (2): Create one of the characters that you want to play in seamless-coop but can't, take a picture of/screenshot that class's special locations for items and spells (using the note you get at spawn), and then path there on a character that can use the seamless-coop items. Hopefully that helps!!

Hey! I am not entirely sure as I, and everyone I helped install it, have it purchased through Steam. However, in the video, I made an error putting the ConvergenceER folder in the game files -- the modders warned against that. If you haven't already, try moving that folder to your desktop, and attempt a run from there. I'm sorry I can't help more!

Hey! Yes, that happened to me as well. I tried it again a few days later and it ended up working 🤷🏻‍♂️. Another commenter said they managed to make a character with just the placeholder class. You could possibly try that and then use the convergence wiki to locate the class-you-wanted's starting point. I hope that helps!

Hey! As far as my testing goes, I had to have my Steam client open before I attempted to launch the game using the .bat file (I have my game installed through Steam). I am not sure about launching it without it being installed on Steam at all.

Yes , if it’s a .dll mod just put it into the “mods” folder If it’s a regulation.bin mod you will need to use a tool to combine the seperate .bin files

Hey! That happened to me as well. I think it may just be a bug with the mod files themselves, or may be due to having ray tracing enabled (if you have a GPU with ray tracing). It worked itself out for me when I tried reinstalling the mods a few days later, but another commenter was able to create a character on the placeholder class without it crashing. If you choose to do that, all of the classes have their starting spells available as loot around the world.

Adding the mods will change the game as long as the files are in your Elden Ring "game" folder. If you want to play the vanilla game all you have to do is remove the files from that folder. I hope that helps!

Hey! A previous commenter enlightened me to an error in file placement. I would say try moving the convergenceER folder out of the game files and onto the desktop and then load the .bat file from there. Just to make clear, the convergenceER folder should not be in the game folder of elden ring, i was mistaken, but it can just be moved to the desktop. I hope that helps!

Quick question with the mod loader can you put any mod file into it or do you need to do something special with the files? Hey! So that happened to me the first time around as well, and I never actually solved the issue. I just deleted the mod files, waited a day or two, and then tried again and it worked without me doing anything different 🤷🏻‍♂️. Hey! So the fix for that is to go into your settings the second the game boots and turn off ray tracing. After turning it off restart your game and the problem should be solved

5:54 is where I start moving the files for the Mod Loader and Seamless-Coop. Make sure all 5 of the items from the 2 separate zip folders go into ONLY the "game" folder of elden ring. And then copy (not move) the .ini and .dII files from the "seamless coop folder" that should now be in your game folder and ALSO put them in the empty "mods" folder that was moved in from the Mod Loader files. You will then want to go into the .ini file (seamlesscoop settings) and set a password (your friend will need the same password in the file as well). From there you can enter the ConvergenceER folder and load the .bat file. I hope this helps! If it still doesn't work, I would backup your Elden Ring save files (type %appdata% in your windows search to find them) and try again using vanilla game files (reinstall game).

I installed everything and when I open the game it has the Convergence main menu, and it says welcome to Seamless coop. But when I go to make a character, I can only make the vanilla classes (but they have the names of SOME of the convergence classes). It's like a weird hybrid of the two versions. When I remove the Seamless coop files from the "mods" folder to play singleplayer, then Convergence works perfectly. For some reason the Seamless coop .ini and .dll files make my Convergence act strange. What do?

Hey! That happened to me as well, and reinstalling the mods after a few days just happened to work out the kinks. I will say, however, that a commenter pointed out that the ConvergenceER files should not be downloaded to the game folder, that was my error. You can download the files anywhere, like your desktop. Try that, while keeping all the other mods where I put them in the video, and hopefully it works. Good luck!

my game just crashes it doesnt even start, i dont know what to do, i also have reshade installed but i dont thinks that affects my game iniciation, any ideas?
