Spreading creep is the actual win objective of SC2. The win screen is just put there to distract you from your true goals.

1:25 in. Back in WoL (haven't played for a while), I used a poop/carrylord to drop a queen and creep tumor around empty base locations. It would require detection and a bit of attack power to snuff out, buying me time, and tell me where my opponent would expand next. Plus, it was even less resource / pop cap, on the long run, than burying a single zergling, and if your tumor had spread out, you could spread it back in after a scan. I have a bit of Florencio in me.

I've always wanted to watch a game like that where a queen and overlord are used to drop creep tumors wherever they want around the map. I've never been able to find a video that shows it in practice though.

You could also double down on the hatch cancel, instead of moving queen and drone home after the first forward creep spot, move them to the other side of the map and do it a second time... hoping they aren't killed on the way. That's how you indeed might cover the ENTIRE map :-) Might lower your win-rate, but if you just move the goalpost to spreading creep rather than winning, then you win almost every match! Though if you just getting a single person to leave each day, out of annoyance, it probably makes up for it. :-)

Hmm, what about going gas, hatch, pool, and then lair before ling speed? Sounds crazy, but so does hatch cancel :-) With lair, you can place multiple forward creep positions using overlord poop. Might also mindgame the opponent Protoss or Terran a bit if they scout the lair, and perhaps expect an early cheese like a nydus rush, a big win if they turtle while you just chill, spread creep everywhere and macro up.

Crushing Terrans with Zerg feels so satisfying. Zerg is such an underdog, esp because air defense is so limited in speed/mobility. Waiting for more hidden hatcheries to spread creep and macro!

@@johnnydeppsky3510 The amount of micro Pig had to use to counter this a-move terran is completely ridiculous. This game is unbalanced. Zerg has to use significantly more micro to counter low-micro attacks from their opponents, constantly. Meanwhile, Terran and Protoss build a wall and ignore any options Zerg have for harassment/causing the opponent to micro.
@johnnydeppsky35102 жыл бұрын
@@SeanofAllTrades it’s a silly argument. Try microing marines vs banes. Each race has its pluses. Queens are super good and cost efficient early game. If you send your banshee without control you do 0 damage

@@SeanofAllTrades you think that multi prong drop harass was a moving?!? You definitely do not play this game. I was thinking how well the terran was keeping on the pressure, zerg is only bad at lower levels, just like protoss is only op at lower levels. Edit* again, you clearly dont play. Queens literally shut down all early game aggression by terran and protoss, and are widely considered the best unit in the game. Zerg can also wall.. the playstyle is just different,

@jkkim69282 жыл бұрын
In pro level, zerg can easily defend. But in amateur level, a couple misclicks can get you to lose zerglings and queens and that snowballs super hard
@TheMuffinman1912 жыл бұрын
It snowballs really hard if the zerg fucks up at all. A good defence shuts it down but is HAS to be good. If not then you get run over by reapers as they’ll just start fighting your spines

Is making an Overlord carrier upgrade too inconvenient/expensive to make so you can transport a queen and worker around?
@rozmarinideas53402 жыл бұрын
Well you'd also need Overlord speed otherwise walking with the queen is faster, and factoring the time to research, the queen walk is still faster. Also overlord speed delays lair, which delays the ability of Overlords to poop creep.

Lair is extremely late compared to queen walk

Not even remotely as cheesy as the swarmhost rush. So maybe add swarm hosts - or can you make it look like a zerg "canon" rush to force a response that you then can exploit?

You need a lair to make overlords spread creep and that takes way too long to get to compared to walking a queen and drone.

@@259 Well I checked the game time, you can get a lair in 3 mins, he was starting creeping generally around 4 mins, so I think it's a lot faster doing lair. 1 minute at this point in the game is a huge difference.
