There's something so therapeutic about being out there, alone, in the snow with a film camera. Great shots, keep it up!

Nice choice for your camera. Those Spotmatics will outlive us all. Sometimes they struggle in the cold but your looks like it’s doing great.. self timer and all.

Thanks, I love my Spotmatic SP, it is my first and only SLR. Mine works great other than the light meter not working. I think I need to replace the light seals though, judging by some of my recent film I've shot. I didn't know that not working in the cold was something common with these cameras. Last year in the winter I had some problems with it. That's good to know, thank you.

@@Noahs_Photography , yes, every old camera can be helped by replacing the light seals. Also the mirror bumper foam. It’s actually a very simple process and will help the camera keep working great for many years to come. I have been having a blast for over 30 years now repairing and replacing the seals on film gear as my hobby. (Yeah, I’m an old guy - 63). There is an endless supply of great cameras out there. Enjoy sir!

Really nice overview, I think it might be rerolled foma? In which case it might do better shot at 250-320. I loved your dramatic self portrait framed by the trees.

Sorry fella but this is just Kentmere 400 repacked. Had this confirmed by my local camera shop when they were out of 400 and recommended this as an alternative. Cool film and shots regardless.

One this film is rebranded Fomapan. 2 this was a delayed kickstart that shipped in a Briefcase if you bought enough and there was a refurbished camera that also was to accompany but that failed. 2. This clown started selling film to people at a convention and before those in a a kickstarter got theirs. Really shady way to do business. Never received the camera and people buying the film in person before the kickstarter I’m surprised remained in business. The embarrassment I would have closed down shop.
@fivelampsparanormalinvesti804210 ай бұрын
Yeah. Kickstarter campaign was a flop. This is Kentmere not foma though. The whole thing is pretty poor business. I despair when I see videos like this heralding it as some great film.

I liked the light leaks. They added to it. Especially the line on the first one. It was kind of a scy fy vibe.

aren't you afraid of damaging your camera due to moisture and lack of weather proofing? or have you used a bit of silicone to seal it?
@MacShrike11 ай бұрын
Hi Noah! Thanks for sharing your work. Shame about the light leaks (don't know what they are; happy accidents is a good term) I liked that you took some "selfies". The framing was very good indeed. Q: Do you develop them yourself? Anyhoe, nm if you do or don't. I read that this film (and it is a very cool art and name; but also its properties) you can push this to 6400 ISO easy. So, for my 2 cents(I'm broke) how about loading the film, but setting your Pentax to 1600 ISO(can it? If not just under expose by 2 stops; if it can then trick your light meter by two stops). Then push your film on development 2 stops (or tell the lab to push it). It might sound silly but it actually works. You might well be delighted by the amount of detail in the shadows, yet, the highlights will be pushed into their own zone(see Ansel Adams). Very auspicious to wander out in the new fallen snow and taking some pictures. Again, thanks for sharing

Hi, I don't develope my film myself, I send it to The Darkroom. I'm not sure how far it would be possible to push this film with usable results, I'll have to test it in better light and shoot a roll without a light leak to really get a better idea of what this film looks like. Thanks for watching!
@MacShrike11 ай бұрын
@@Noahs_Photography🙋🏻♂️ just ask them to push it 2 stops. But then also: trick your camera light meter to go under 2 stops( by setting the iso/asa/din setting on your camera). So; if you load a 100asa film, set your camera for 400. Every frame will be under exposed 2 stops. But then tell the lab to push it 2 stops. The darks wont develop as much as the highlights. Give it a try 🤓👊🏻🙋🏻♂️
@MacShrike11 ай бұрын
Or; if you load a 400 film and your camera doesn’t go up 2 stops(1600) you could go for the 400 but half the time(shutter setting) by factor 2. So if it says 5.6 at 1/125 you could try 5.6 at 1/30 or 4 at 1/60.
@MacShrike11 ай бұрын
Also: just enjoy! You are doing fine!🤓

This is just a repackaged film lol, most likely Kentmere 400 or maybe Fomapan 400. You paid an extra few dollars for the cool packaging, but the film you shot is an extremely popular budget film that most people shoot on a daily basis.

Before you put 5 minutes into this video, know that he really means what he says up front. He thinks this film is "coolest" only because of the printed design on the paper box it comes in. As a film, I do not think he's informed or educated enough to comment on the qualities of the film itself, and thankfully, he does not try. There are a number of very nice snow photos, so this is another "look what I took on my walk in the woods" sessions. Since the film seems to have been damaged in its production, this is hardly a recommendation for its purchase and use.
