I bought a 1982 Camaro Z28 brand new. It had the LG4 engine with 145 hp. In it’s day it was the Motor Trend Car of the Year. It was a boss car back in 82. I was always jealous of the IROC Camaro which came later. I still have my car, this will be the 39th year. She still runs great. So happy to see that car guys are digging these cars again. It makes the perfect sleeper hot rod with a LS installed. Lots of under hood room. Hats off to the builder here and to others that follow. I especially like Detroit Speed’s street/track monster DSE Z as well. Check them out on KZbin.

@BRUCE LEE I believe he is referring to the 85 in which the IROC was a Sports Package on the Z28 Base. So no, until 86 until their last year 90. The IROC was an IROC-Z, Thus for IROC Z28.

Hey Andy I have a red 88 RS camaro than my dad and I are restoring. It was the first car I bought as a project car. We're taking the V6 out and putting in a pontiac 350 that is bored .60 over. The car has an 88 Iroc hood and z28 taillights. Also I do agree the flowmaster muffler does sound great on them cause I have one on mine aswell.

I love 3rd gens. I have an 89 that I built an ls1 for. It only dynoed at 468hp but it's a fun car. It is the first motor I've fully build from a bare block up. Take that coolant tank and washer fluid tank off the fenders and put in something smaller and it cleans the engine bay up a ton.

I love this car! Bought an 83 new that looked just likethis, de-stiped an all. My car had a lot of issues, rear end, fuel system, dash and yes it was a LG4 (no power). Did a tone of mods, Dana 44 with 4-wheel disc, Banks exhaust, Koni shocks and on and on. Was getting ready to drop in a 350 in and lost it in a divorce. Talk about insult to injury. Anyway, I always wanted to do another 3rd gen. Yes, they do get hated on by a lot of people but I think they look great. It warms my heart to see one done so well, not so over the top just nicely done. Two thumbs up.

I wish people would get it right all converters are stall converters. the stall is the speed at which the converter allows the engine to before it engages. The converter on an automatic transmission from the factory is a stall converter everyone means they have a converter with a difference stall speed.

Andy, can you link me to the phantom gauge cluster and the dual gate shifter? I've got a 1985 z28 with about 15k miles where the previous owner replaced the engine with a new edelbrock 350 and I believe its cammed but the guy also seemed to disconnect the entire obd system(previously had the TPI 305) (and also replaced the T-handle with a ridiculous autozone special silver dong shift knob) and the tachometer doesn't work at all, only the speedometer, aftermarket oil pressure, aftermarket temp gauge, and voltage meter work. I'd also appreciate any information about reconnecting the stock obd system, TPI fuel injection system and if it's possible to put TPI on a 350 as it currently only has a single 1406 edelbrock carb. Great channel, also planning to get a gsxr 750 in the future, keep it up.

I really like 3rd gen Camaros. I bought a 1987 Camaro on April 28, 1994 as my first car and I still have it though it needs work now from sitting. I pretty much parked it shortly after buying my '91 Jeep YJ and completely lost interest in the F-body not long after... Sadly I will be parting it out or rehoming it within the next year. I simply have no use for it and would rather put the money into my '70 Nova which was my second car.
