Steam 'n Rails dev here, Brass switches are special because by using a,d (or lack thereof) and pressing space, you can set them remotely from a train. Additionally, a scroll option on the brass switch allows you to configure if automatic (scheduled) trains can set the brass switch. As long as a spy conductor is chunkloaded, you can spy through it - and it will load chunks around it if you are looking through its eyes.

The vent blocks can also be right clicked with a block so that they look like that block. This means you can make a wall of normal blocks with a vent trail hidden behind it, so people wouldn't know it's there or be able to get through unless they are controlling a conductor.

This is also what sets apart brass switches from andesite ones. You can change what trains are allowed to automatically pull switches using the icon on a brass switch

@Shalz oh, be sure to try out the suspicious caps sometime as well. Renaming a cap to start with [sus] will let you take on a new form and open up a plethora of possibilities, especially in terms of messing with friends. They also work with the custom skins, for example you could have your cap named to [sus]SpottyTheTurtle

The track switchers can be toggled with projectiles btw (arrow, snowball, egg, etc). ALSO A VERY COOL THING IS name a conductor hat to [sus] and put it on yourself

For that train factory idea you could automatically place blaze burner as part of the train and give it a train schedule by just transporting it into the train station block (it's explained a bit better if you ponder the station block or the schedule not sure which one). You could also automatically assemble it by using wrench with a deployer which is part of this mod.

With the New Ability to choose Boogies and the Create No Limits Add-on, you can Make Massive Trains with Steam Locomotives like the Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 Tender Engine or even Behemoths like the British Railways BR 2-10-0 Standard. If you'd like, I can Get the Specs for the Stanier Class 5's for you and Convert them into Metric/Blocks so you can Build it in Minecraft. Don't forget about the Super Kiln that I mentioned in Episode 4 of the Survival Series man! Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video man!

The phantom train tracks act like barriers! If you hold it in your hand, it will show the phantom tracks but if you don't, the phantom tracks will be Invisible! Hold Shift while hovering the phantom train tracks to see if it shows the info or if not, try updating the version of the mod to "Steam 'n Rails 1.4.3 Forge 1.19.2"
