For around the $1500 - $3500 USD price point you cant beat Nomos (if you like their looks which can be polarizing). You can get them new well below retail as well which makes them even better value

Regarding the 'robust' date function: The Zenith 'Elite 670' has also a date function were you can change the date in either direction any time without harming the movement. It's in my Defy Classic Skeleton for example but can also be found on some other Zenith watches. Nevertheless I really love the 'Neomatik' powered watches by Nomos! They're really great. I have never owned a proper good watch, but if I ever buy one, nomos will be at the top of my list! The only thing that worries me is that they might be hard to service because of the in house movement, and if I buy such an expensive watch I'd like it to last for many years.

oh I recognised the model you'll show us next week, it's 99% a mercier et baume. they have a cosc certified movement with 5 days of power reserve, and that cross (lines ) on 12,3,6,9 indexed are tipic from mercier.

I own this watch, but with the silver/white dial. It is definitely a thing of beauty and a lot of value for money. The only issue I have is not the fault of the watch, but that my 54-year-old eyes have trouble making out the small font used for the date numerals. It is gorgeous though.

I just wish Nomos made a less/ non-Bauhaus watch or something with a little more of a substantial or sophisticated look, dial wise especially. They indeed are Bauhaus/ minimalist designed watches but they could rival Tudor if they wanted. It may not for me but I like your take on it, thanks for a great video. If they ever made a normal watch they would have a buyer here.

NOMOS. The brand that punches above its price range. In house movement, beautifully decorated calibre, German engineering and brutally simple design. What is there not to like? In my opinion, The best VFM watch brand.

The coolest simple dress watch, I think is between Patek Calatrava and Vacheron Patrimony- I have not made up my mind , This dilemma, involving me first thinking about it since 2015 ; Patek 5196; then Vacheron Patrimony 82172 and now Patek 6119; quality wise they are equal. Design also equal. Price 5196 similar to 82172. But the 6119 seems to be one step ahead of 5196 and 82172. Still undecided. The other watch that may challenge Patek Vacheron dress watches is the JLC Master Ultra Thin. I don’t like Lange 1815.
