Today is my mom's 100th birthday. She passed 20 yrs ago. When ever I hear The Coolin my thoughts fly to her. I miss her Irish eyes so much. Her family is from north west Ireland. Beautiful job you did on this tune. The tears are streaming down. Thank you for the tune and the video. Both are beautiful............just like my mom!

My grandfathers favorite tune, he was in a pipe band and this was played at his funeral, and again it was played at his daughters funeral yesterday, played by her son using my grandfathers instrument. Beautiful, sad song.

The song has words that may come fro 17th century Ulster and a poet named o'Dugan (from Wikipedia: a poet called Muiris O Duagain or Maurice O'Dugan of Benburb and said to have been written in around 1641.) The music is awesome.
