YOU GUYS. You can't just take the entire crate and run the saw through it. That's not how table saws work. I would have to take it completely apart until it's a bunch of flat pieces of wood, cut them, then staple/nail them back together.

Bumble Baylee why do u bother with such draws i bought a cheap plastic clear 1 that i stack 2 and put my copics in its perfect & didnt cost much seriously it was meant for storage with mini containers i took em out and placed copics in it was like $7 get creative girl dont need to spend alot of money!

I have 2 of those cases right now!! My very temporary solution was just cardboard inserts to add some extra depth. Also, on the Michael’s website (where I ordered them), they’re advertised deeper than they actually are. Just one drives me nuts because my markers all fall out whenever I grabbed one. Especially for Prismacolor brush markers which are a tiny bit longer than Copic sketches. Im so doing this with mine this weekend!!

Excellent copic storage solution! Glad you did not get that one with the drawers and shelves from Michaels. I have three of them and they are very heavy and the cubbies are really small. I took the boxes (with dividers) out of the shelves and stacked them together. They are ok, but your solution is much better! i use the units with the drawers and open shelves for other supplies.

I work at Michael's and see these cases all the time. Never thought to use them for this. I draw mandalas inside of leaves, gum wrappers, etc and have an insane amount of pens. I'll be picking one up tomorrow!

Early!! Love the Kiki shots yesterday and today. She looks so much like my boy. I couldn't take him with me when I moved away from my parent's and I miss him so much. He's slowly getting old (turning 11 this year) and I'm dreading the point when I have to say goodbye. Now next step is you cut a piece of wood the same size as the top of new copic case. Also cut a piece of 2-3” foam same size. Find some cute fabric to cover the foam and staple the ends to underside of wood piece on all sides. Now you’ve made a fancy upholstered cushion to place on top of the case for the kitties to sleep. 😻😻

right now I've been using a Scentsy scent storage box for my markers and it's a deep box and the shelves can be removed if I ever need them and right now my monitor sits on top of it. It comes with a Cover thing that I now just use as a drawing board on my desk. I was going to get another one but this may work a bit better for what i'm going to use it for.

I've been hoarding, er, collecting more markers lately and I can attest the crate from Michaels is actually really lovely and a lot cheaper to get than an acrylic case or tower! I bought two but was actually just lazy enough to use one without modifications. Ha ha it's listed as "Wood Soda Crate by ArtMinds" ♥️

You could cut holes with a drill and a saw. So you wouldn't loose the extra support of the backing. With a pipe size hole drill all you would have to deal with is the corner and you might even need to file or saw the bottom corner, since you want to be able to have a finger thick gap on the top.
