I love the concord cope as they basically admit that gamers are correct, but have to clarify that the reason people didn't like the designs wasn't because they weren't hot(see: aesthetically pleasing), it was because of 'lacking aesthetic'(see: aesthetically pleasing). Yeah the lacking aesthetic was combining like 80s sci look with 2020 woke sensibilities and then for some reason picking the worst colours possible. The epitome of this was the fat black woman in puke green. That acolyte one though, intentionally making the series 'diverse', a healthy dose of nepotism(hiring your wife who CANNOT ACT) and having the main actrress who CANNOT act, then they break lore all over the place. Even when they rewrote it so it 'didn't', the problem is the 'new canon' is stupid and awful.

Honestly, the more masculine female designs are not a deal breaker for me. They are, however, an indicator that the rest of the game is probably crap, and thus I will wait for more information to come out before I consider buying the game. So far, this method of buying games has never steered me wrong.

There are actually a lot of people who don't care about the woke insertions in game. They fall into several different classes. The first deny the agenda exists at all, or are totally oblivious to it. The second thinks its just a right-wing talking point. The third admits it exists but that it's "not a big deal." I know a lot of people like that. On the other hand I think all of these people are often subconsciously influenced by the terrible aesthetics of the 'woke' mindset. Starfield for example, while not being the most egregious example of 'woke' (for lack of a better term) is actually completely infiltrated by the mindset. There are no attractive women. There are masculine and take-charge women everywhere. There is nothing edgey or offensive about the game. Even the sex clubs are completely neutered and unappealing. Even without an explicitly-voiced agenda, what you're left with is an extremely bland, flavorless experience. These other people would deny that has anything to do with being 'woke' but it's actually a direct consequence. By being so careful not to offend anything, they denude the game of anything exciting, interesting, or unexpected. Game that cross no boundaries are never going to get your pulse going.

Woke fails because it's performative in its very nature. It's virtue signalling rather than virtue itself. The "modern audience" want to be perceived at virtuous, but they only play up to the role when their faces or names are associated with the words and actions pertaining to said perceived virtue. When someone gives to charity whilst bragging that they do so, it's because the altruism is just a method of raising their social profile. It's the same with the woke audience. They're not buying the game which espouses their stated values because they're not interested in it and nobody will know that they didn't buy it. Half of these activists probably bought Hogwarts Legacy and just never told their allies... Because they're too cowardly to be who they truly are - fickle, capricious, self-serving hypocrites. The woke cult is maintained by fear. Denunciation, marginalization and ostracization are their tools de jour and they use them very liberally on anyone who doesn't toe the line. That's not a very nice environment to exist in, but they will maintain the facade of virtue because being cast out is somehow more scary to them

Here's what this list isn't taking into account - when a game is by appearance "woke" that doesn't mean in visuals only. When a game goes that direction they are woke from the ground up. Woke hiring practices means they aren't looking for the best programmers and writers and directors they can find, they are looking for people to check a box. When You hire mediocre and unimpressive people they will create a mediocre and unimpressive product. Many people hired in this way are in turn effected with the mind virus, they are inwardly ugly people and this shows when they interact with the public online. "Diverse" characters is just the greatest outward sign that a game is woke, it's the tip of an iceberg, an iceberg that sinks whatever it touches.

They're point is basically the games sucked anyways, but the consultants consumed resources that didn't improve the product, and the same people who made that bad decision made the others. Later on they actually get to the root of the issue: they start development of their Thing+ideology after Thing succeeds, and it releases years later when Thing is now stale. And they're right it's not necessarily the specifics of the + that they suck, it's that they were probably focused on the + instead of making an innovative Thing.
