Speaking as a boomer who was Gene Clark fan from the gitgo, this is a very fine version. Very nice indeed. Thank you The Coral … Gene Clark was so underrated but he did finally record his masterpiece, NO OTHER. A brilliant and something like progressive country LP, but really pure Gene Clark. You can't describe this, only hear it. And that's what it says on his headstone, "No Other" And there was none.

one of the best covers of this iconic Gene Clark song.. he would be proud of you guys.. If you hear his original version(s) when he sang them.. they were less formulated than the Byrds version. you captured the Byrds vibe version..but your own version has become a fave of mine over the years.

Really inspired lead guitar playing here, but everyone involved is obviously doing their very best work. Can't thank The Coral enough for their taste in 60s tunes.

Fabulous song, doesn't matter if it's a cover. "I'll feel a whole lot better when you're gone." My quote of the day.

More to say : This is proof that this music is never going to go out of style, because it's so damn good and none of the crap that's being played now on the "top 10" is gonna survive. And again : These guys do it justice. GREAT !

Very nice cover. Excellent work with the famous Rickenbacker guitar, just the way Jim (Roger) McGuinn played it, and the smooth lead voice like of that of the late Gene Clark.

Really nice job, guys! I noticed that at :58 and 1:58 (both instances referring to the same point in the song), I'm hearing a slight variation on the chord. In any event, it's all good, and yes, Gene Clark's music and his lyrics were so straight-forward and great. Thanks...

The 60's spirit floats on the studio in that moment. Those equipment bring back The Byrd's spirit, and the result come out with this beautiful song.

Good covers are what keep old classics alive; I would have mixed in the Rickenbacker a little more prominently, though.

The drummer looks like Michael Clarke, the Byrd's drummer who supposedly got the gig coz he looked like Brian Jones. Incidentally he played on boxes for their audition tape , used to be available as Preflyte album.

Good job, guys, although the keyboard is superfluous since it's not on the Byrds' recording. Still, if you have a keyboard player you've got to give him something to do. ;)

Quite good. But to be fair have never heard a bad cover of this song as long there is decent harmony and they don't try to slow it down.

Nice try; but Gene owns this tune.

What this version lacks is passion. Gene Clark's original vocal is what made the track and is more or less unbeatable. Then there's McGuinn's weirdo Beatles singing for light relief. I mean what was all that bleating in the background of this? That Byrds track SHOOK people when they heard the first time.
@MacFeeley12 жыл бұрын
Pretty good, but obviously they lack a harmony singer of Crosby's power. But overall a fine perky version!
@alexdelaville14 жыл бұрын
they should have put this version on the b-side, the acoustic one is not that good as this one
