This opening seen is pure solid gold. Khandi Alexander is simply mesmerizing--can't take my eyes off her. I've always thought she is a very realistic, superior actress. No one could have played this part as good or better than her.

I've seen all the classic films and all the acclaimed TV dramas. Marlon Brando in The Godfather and On The Waterfront. Daniel Day Lewis in There Will be Blood and Lincoln. De Niro in Raging Bull. James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano. Bryan Cranston as Walter White. The best acting performance I've ever seen comes from a little known mini series called The Corner. She fully inhabits the character, the mannerisms and accent are spot on, and she goes through the full range of human emotions in less than 6 episodes. By the end of the show it feels like I've watched 8 seasons and the character feels so real it's almost like a past life.

“46:05 - 47:32” THIS WAS THE HEAVIEST MESSAGE I’VE EVER SEEN IN ANY FORM OF TV WHETHER IT BE MOVIES, SITCOMS, DOCUMENTARIES, DRAMAS OR REALITY SHOWS.....The way the actor delivered the message to Fran and the emotion Fran showed us on her face gave me the chills.....Art imitates life and it’s supposed to convey, evoke and provoke emotions, which it did perfectly.....he basically told his sister to use him as an example to get some help for her drug addiction....the fact that he used to use drugs qualified him to tell her to pull herself together and seek treatment...but also one of the deepest parts was the fact that Fran was the only one that actually got the message based on the fact that she was the only there who had been considering getting clean!!! The corner is so powerful that anyone who is an addict or knows someone close who is an addict , I was an addict , addicted to painkillers cause of my sickle cell there would be times when I won't be in a crisis n still go to an emergency room to get an dialudid shot or pop painkillers like candy when i couldnt the withdrawls was the worse so i def can relate but once my fiance was preggers I had to get my act together , yes when I get sick n have to go to the hospital n get an pain injection or when I pop my painkillers at home I make sure I don't take more then what's recommended , I'm proud to get past such a tough obstacle
