I think the cannon flips because the fat guy was putting his weight on the back of it? He pivots and puts his hand on the cannon, then he shakes and falls down, *then* the cannon flips and clocks bald zombie waluigi upside the head and fires. That's the best sense I can make of the animation.

I'd say the ending is a pretty good addition as it encourages people to draw art of your character (and Slush's character too,) which will then get people to check out who this strange moth guy (and his animalistic partner) is and why they keep appearing everywhere.
