My personal head canon is that Tommy Jarvis is secretly at the camp and he is the one leaving things around for the counselors to help defeat Jason; such as the notes, flashlight, weapons, etc. You have “zombie” Jason which happened due to Tommy’s actions, there are kids at the camp, rocks are used against Jason, and you have a torch to set Jason on fire, all of which happen in Part 6 Jason Lives. Technically Tommy poured gas on the surface of the lake and lit that on fire and Jason caught on fire trying to attack Tommy, but earlier in the movie, Tommy did try to directly set Jason on fire, but the rain made it so he couldn’t light his matches. And even though Jason never harms any of the kids in the movie, it is the only one in the series where kids actually are at the camp.

I found your channel yesterday. This is the video that made me Subscribe. EDIT to add: when you drop off a fully-stocked Mark in the first day, what happens if Jason decides to attack him while you're playing as somebody else? The unmanned characters don't defend themselves or heal, they just get attacked and lose health / die. So Jason could have undone all of the work you did with Mark, and you'd lose the best character in the game, without having any control over it.
@retronateАй бұрын
First of all, thanks for the sub! Yes, Jason can attack other counselors in the cabins where you leave them. The easiest way to defend yourself is to duck into a small cabin anywhere on the map, then use the start button to switch to whoever’s being attacked. They don’t start losing life until 40 seconds are left on the counter. And they don’t get fully killed until the clock reaches zero. But in theory, you’re correct. If you don’t get back to defend the counselor under attack in time, they die.

My strat on this game back in the day was to use the torch till day 3, then get the pitchfork on day 3, then take Jason out on the road. The pitchfork is not on par with the torch - as I recall, it did 3 damage to Jason versus 1 damage by the torch making it the best weapon in the game. I also didn't bother with the flashlight as it is possible to navigate the cave without it. You can also heal your star players with medicine collected by other counselors. I would often use Chrissy or Mark to run to a counselor's cabin when Jason was attacking, trade places with them, take their torch, and fight Jason with a slower counselor with full health, then pass the weapons back. Finally, on day 3 I was not great at taking Jason on inside the cabins, so if you turn and leave the cabin, you will automatically face him on the road... Assuming he is not blocking your way to the door. Again, passing the weapon and taking the stronger counselor BEFORE turning around to the door was the best hope for survival. On day 3 if he attacked the kids at the lake, I would just have to let him take them out, as I never figured out the timing to take him out inside the cabins then... Not to mention on day 3 he always seemed to attack me multiple times on the lake when coming or going, and the birds just made it even more impossible, so unless I was down to the last 5 kids, I never went to the lake. Serious kudos to you to taking day 3 Jason out in the cabins! That's hard as nails!
@retronateАй бұрын
@@seansretroverse9082 yeah his technique in the cabins is pretty tough but repeatable once you figure it out. The pitchfork also does 1 damage per hit but it flies through multiple zombies on the road which is nice. No speedrun strats run, interesting, but speaking about Jason's behavior, he also won't run away if your counselor HP is low as he will attempt to go for the kill (make sure if that happens you're in the cabins, otherwise you'll almost guaranteed to lose your current counselor if you don't have medicine to potentially delay their deaths in case the fights is on the roads, sure, in cabins also are neat to have in case, but at least you have better chances to survive a battle to the death in that scenario if you ran out of medicines), and also he won't run away if your current counselor is the last one alive (and as you said, as long as the children counter when they're under attack doesn't reach zero when there's too little children remaining, you won't lose the game, you can let the counter expire I think once or twice without issues as he kills around 7 each time the timer expires, but 3 is a guaranteed Game Over).
@retronateАй бұрын
@@PikangsFutaba ah interesting. I would’ve thought he wouldn’t have retreated on day 1 against mark since my HP was pretty low. You’re right though - the road would be a death sentence. Idk…the speedrun strats feel like it cheapens the experience. Really nerfs the game imo. To each his own I guess.

If you just go get the cabin in the woods note then goto the cabin in the woods and just walk in and leave then go back in and grab the fire note you can get the fire weapon just by walking into a certain cabin and picking it up off the floor. You can get the fire in less than 2 minutes. I personally beat this game in less then 4 minutes and 30 seconds. I have this on my speedrun playlist if you'd like to see a faster way to get the fire WITHOUT having to light a single fireplace.

As a kid, I used the notes from the larger lake cabins to go into the northern woods, get an axe and then use it against Pamela for a torch with Laura, I would usually get her the sweater too. She was my gopher and then I'd pass torches to Mark and Chrissy. Save them for days 2 and 3. Get lots of medicine vials there as well. Then maybe do the torch game through the messages while lighting the cabins. I noticed the rock deformations in the cave where the doors/paths would be so I didn't care about the flashlight. I'd also prioritize the kids on day 1 because I couldn't (still can't) fight Jason indoors on day 3 when he would just attack them relentlessly. There was a glitch as well. The small NW cabin. If you fight Jason outside, then run right, he immediately re-attacks, then quickly go up the path to the cave loop and another immediate attack. If you have the torch or pitchfork, you can take him out really quick with 3 continous outside attacks. The pitchfork is really cool to see, but I don't mess around on day 3. I just try to hunt Jason down with torch users before he can attack the kids. It's a decent game once you learn it, but those who just go in blind get slaughtered.
