Indeed they were. The only thorn that Roy had was his widow Nicky. Not very many people he knew actually approved of her

@@lidiaziolkowski3965 Hello, Lidia: Why did people not approve of Nicky, who as you know was Roy's second wife?

The Reivers Galley Sails she swiftly from the harbour Fal de re ho fa la lee Like a lone gull before the storm winds Fal la lee ho fa la lee Kismaels’ galley goes a reiving Sails she swiftly to Isla’s shore To isles of daring and deeds and laughter Fa la lee ho fa la lee Through the moonlight she lays her coursing Fal de re ho fa la lee Far beneath her the grey blue limplets Fal de re ho fa la lee Spoils of glory is her venture Deeds of glory in brightest dawn On through Moorla to fair green Isla Fal de re ho fa la lee Turns she homeward through dancing sunlight Fal de re ho fa la lee From soft green southland to northern darnight Fal de re ho fa la lee Scars of battle are on her timbers Grain and cattle for hungry homes Hardy winter stole her boyhood Fal de re ho fa la lee Now the harpist weaves his story Fal de re ho fa la lee Laments to heroes of former glory Fal de re ho fa la lee Kismael’s galley is safely home now Sleeps she gently like a swan No dreams of war now her wings are folded Fal de re ho fa la lee

I just learned that Roy wrote this one. North Sea Gas does a very good rendition of it, too. In the jacket notes to the album it's on they write: "Roy Williamson ...has captured the magic and mystery of the old legends."

Found a hidden one. So much easier to find with The Corries in the title. Got any gems?

On my channel, I've got a long Corries playlist and and a separate one for Roy, including all the titles from the CD of his home studio recordings, released posthumously. The few I don't hsve, someone else will. Keep looking. The hard part is when you've found them all!
