it's not in the bible. it's not an inspired text (an inspired text was a text that essentially every early Christian would consider written under the inspiration of the holy spirit and collected in the final cannon. Paul wrote many more letters then what are recorded in the bible but the ones that are included where agreed upon to be inspired) this does not however mean that it s considered illegitimate

I see why they threw this book out of the Bible. There’s no way a being that observed the glory of the Almighty himself could find the sight of a normal woman tempting. It’s like owning a diamond mine and being tempted by a colored glass imitation.

@@Poussyeater-w5e no it was taken out. The story of the sons of heaven and the woman of Earth mating was later understood to be a misunderstanding of Cain and Seth’s lines intermarrying. There are remnants of Enoch still in the Bible but the story was mostly edited out because of the realization of the previously mentioned mistake and the fact it had elements that didn’t mesh and contradicted later books.

Btw for people wondering why the book of Enoch is not in the bible. Enoch attributes Enoch the books namesake as the second coming of Enoch the first coming of the Messiah.

This story might seem conflicting, but everything (including the actions taken by the fallen angels in the Book of Enoch) boils down to Freewill. Mind you, Lucifer was already kicked out of Heaven by that time. Normally these Watchers should have served God (so that they don't end up like Lucy), but that would be devotion out of fear, not out of love for God. God still leaving his creations with Freewill (after the first rebellion) was His way of knowing those who were genuinely loyal.

The problem with the Book of Enoch is that it contradicts what the Bible already says. Jesus Himself already confirmed spirit and flesh cannot mix. Meanwhile, the Book of Enoch claims spirit and flesh can mix. Furthermore, the Old Testament acknowledges giants did exist, but not as creatures that were hundreds of feet tall. The Bible states these beings are men, as in human beings. Og, king of Bashan, was a human, just around 12 feet tall. Goliath was estimated to be approximately 10 feet tall. Still human, but really tall (no, I will not stop using feet. Deal with it. I don't exist to please you).
