Fully agree with this. It is also exhausting because those "good builds" you mention that are good but not broken, are treated as "shit builds" by the community. People call functional, good builds (which are where the devs want good builds to be) "trash" because they're not falconer level broken. Endless corruption was just bandaid for when the game had literally no content other than arena and basic monos. They have to let the "endless" part of it go.

400-500 is the low end? Damnit I knew I was playing this game wrong. I have like 15 characters (almost every mastery, two of couple of masteries) and honestly I think 200 corruption is the highest I've ever "pushed". The time it takes to go thru the campaign, go thru all the normal monos, get your blessings fixed etc... At that point I'm usually just done with the character, lol. I doubt any of my builds could even reach 500. Maybe some of them with some build refinement, better gear, etc. And I consider myself still a nolifer hardcore ARPG fan when it comes to the playerbase. Although more casual nowadays than in the past but... I think the devs have also said that the majority of players don't even reach empowereds or 100 corruption. Interesting video anyways, thanks!

The depth of knowledge you need to have to theorycraft a broken build is commendable. The days of mind numbing repetition you need to get your character to a 4 digit corruption holds me off from even trying. I'm right with you, it's the most fun to see your character progress, it's not fun to exploit the game mechanics and play a broken build.

I am actually more in favor of not capping the corruption, but by allowing more mods per mono to stack up for every X corruption. Right now, every mono adds 1 mod with 2-4 charges. If they started adding 2-3 mods per mono as you climbed higher, eventually, the mobs will start getting outrageously dangerous. It would be similar to the PoE atlas completion system where map where if forces more mods on the player to advance. The main problem with the current mono mod system is that it relies TOO heavily on the base hp + damage to make a difference. No one even looks at mono modifiers right now other than for timeline bosses or shade...

Another option is just to balance CoF so you are comfortably getting gear at the same level of corruption as merchant

CoF doesn’t really need to be on the level of trade, otherwise what’s the point of trading. However, we do need ways to make target farming boss uniques significantly easier for CoF

@@dodang_9147 That was my point CoF shouldn’t be on the same level as the trade league, at least not at lower corruption level. Again, no reason to play as merchant if you can gear just as easily as CoF. Btw I don’t think corruption should be capped and I generally speaking don’t agree with dread on this “issue” as well. Player should be incentivized to push really high corruption to actually test their build.

@@dodang_9147 again, if you don’t need more dedication to get to the level of trade league when playing solo, what’s the point of playing the trade league. CoF in general should be much worse than trade league at the same corruption level, otherwise there’s no reason to play as merchant. I understand that not everyone have the time to push for insanely high corruption, heck I didn’t push for much beyond 1000c with my CoF scf characters. But that’s the trade off. If you want cool stuffs like lp red rings, go play merchant. If you are fine with “sub optimal” and simply want loot explosion, play CoF.

Don't cap corruption, add a prestige system. When you hit 2000C reset the timeline and give us an aura which we can continue to level up through prestige. Every prestige level gives 1 point to unlock a challenge modifier; Enemies explode dealing x damage Enemies emit lightning periodically Harbinger shades may appear Otherwise just make it a cosmetic reward but I'd like to see something for those grinders to continue the marathon.
