I got my 06 c6z almost a year ago and I can also say that I love my car. I have my cam and heads ready for it and I’m just waiting for my appointment at the shop that’s doing the work and I honestly want that date to come already!

Watching from Austin, Tx. C6Z video ideas: If you chose to build/mod this C6Z, it would make for some cool vids. Dyno pulls. Sound clips before and after exhaust mods. Car-care/Paint-protection vids are awesome. Also, maybe a long term (2-5 year)cost to own is always of interest...especially since these C6Zs are getting into the $30k-35k mark. This price point makes these cars obtainable for a lot of people (more subs)! All those same ideas would apply to a ZR1 as well. Get what makes you happy! Enjoyed this video! I like Austin it's only an hour and a half away from me! I've been wanting to go to a Cars and Coffee at COTA... Hopefully whenever the next one is! Awesome video ideas, thank you for sharing! I'm taking notes. Actually planning on doing a cost of ownership video soon since I just had my 3 year anniversary with the car. I think most would be pleasantly surprised with how inexpensive it has been to own (from a maintenance standpoint especially) being that I haven't had any major service needs thus far. Obviously that changes if / when the mods begin. 😅 I appreciate your support and input! Cheers my friend!

Watching from DC. Beautiful C6Z! I have a 2012 Inferno Orange Grand Sport (manual). I love the Z but I wanted the removable top. To address the performance, I had it supercharged by Lingenfelter. It now has 580 wheel HP. So basically I get the best of both worlds!

Is the valve guide issues really a big thing ? I heard most c6 z06’s had that problem besides the 2012-13.

I'm not sure what % of cars were actually effected. Many owners seem to be concerned about it enough to have the preventative maintenance done to correct the so called issue.

I have an 09 with1000rwhp but can drive it every day. Absolutely love this car. **Just get the notorious valve issue" taken care of or you'll grenade the motor**

That's awesome! I bet that's accelerating in that beast is a ton of fun! I've never been in a car with anywhere near that much power before haha. Yeah the valve issue is on my list of things to knock out if I end up keeping the car for a while longer.

I highly without hesitation recommend AHP American Heritage Performance for your work. They are the top LS shop in the country with a rock solid reputation. They are out of Harbor Bay California. How many miles did your car have when you bought it? Did you get the valve guide issue addressed when you bought it? I had heard it runs a little over 1k to do it and that is considerably cheaper than waiting until the engine grenades. The C6 Z06 just sounds BANANAS at wide open throttle. Is your exhaust stock? Texas heat is NO JOKE! I can attest as I live in Central Texas.

37k miles when I bought it. I haven't had the valve guides addressed. Parts are a little over $1k depending on who you go with, more for labor etc. There's a list of other things I'd want to have done if I decided to do that... Including exhaust. Exhaust is stock for now. I have been told that it sounds bananas WOT. :)

Thank you! I love mine... Can't go wrong with red either! I have no idea on the tint because it was on when I got it but I'd say it's just how I like it. I'm thinking it must be 35%. I can see at night no problem so thinking it must not be much darker than that.

Bro what's the maximum Coolant temperature your corvette reaches in a hot day? I have corvette C6 2006 LS2 Stock with only filter and Z06 mufflers My temperature reaches 225F - 235F when the AC is on and when I switch the AC off it comes down all the way to 210-215F is it normal?

Hey Sam! It's been a while since I've had it out on a 100+ day but it will go a bit above 220F on days like that, especially after slowing down from some spirited driving. If I remember correctly, somewhere in the 225-230F area. Otherwise, I'm usually between 210-220F when warmed up in normal conditions where I am (in central Texas).

@@TexasRealEstate The C6 and C7 used the C5 platform. Frame design, engine, transmission and differential layout. Dual fuel tanks. Ls7 was first introduced in the C5-R race car back 1999. C5 was revolutionary. The engineering team at GM got the C5's chassis so right that by 1999 they determined that the C6 needed to be started.

3 years later.....you can't touch these for less than 50-60K. I bought an 09 Z last month that I just couldn't pass up. 13,000 miles and 660HP with a Lingenfelter build. It came with some xtra goodies on top of this. I paid almost 55K for it and didn't flinch because it was everything, plus some, that I wanted. I believe I got a great deal on it because I saw the original build sheet from Lingenfelter and got a copy of the original window sticker and both were a grand total of 113K. I love everything about this VETTE.

Actually I'm scared of it for the moment. It's a rocket from 1st gear through the rest. It's not the fastest Vette around but that doesn't matter. I'll have to keep drag radials on the rear as long as I own it. @@TexasRealEstate

Right around 195/200 degrees on a cool day. More like 220 +/- on a hot day, here in Texas.

Thank you! It's a a mesh / chrome look grill. The previous owner replaced the factory plastic ones with those on both the front and side grills. I like the look as well, haven't seen another exactly like it - although they are GM parts.
