The game is quite good. I like the characters, building cards, card reading and the power. For me the biggest problem it has - not enough options to choose from, and not enough outcomes during the ending. It feels like the game was rushed, and so many other options, hinted during the game were suddenly lost.

I don't really care about actual tarot, but playing the demo of this game a while back I really got a taste for this witchy world's version of it. I kind of want to get the game on Switch, but I'd probably be better off getting the PC version.

I enjoyed a good portion of this game, since the art is beautiful and some of the plot twists were exhilarating. Getting to my ending, though...I had unrealistic expectations, I suppose, and literally lost a day trying to recoup when all was said and done. SPOILERS, GOING FORWARD🚨🚨🚨 Main reason why I took a day to recover from being thrown emotionally? Well, main reason: I made the mistake of going into the game, hoping to have Fortuna romance the behemoth. Plenty of us adore Ábramar, and wished he was romanceable. However, Fortuna seems to be an asexual character-given her reactions to discussions involving sex (in spite of the Romance option of the Water seal)-and even her color scheme conveys that. Though Ábramar and the protag could potentially say "I love you" to each other, depending on choices made...it seems unlikely that she could ever wind up with him like that. Even with the ending I got-which was probably the best outcome that could've happened from their pact-Fortuna was upset to the point of being remorseful. She channelled her upset at Ábramar, and I think that even if I had chosen any other sacrifice, Fortuna would've still wound up bitter. Protag is called out at some point for being self-centered, so even if a part of her still loved her former pact partner, she's never...truly content. I guess I just entered the game, enjoying the behemoth more than the protag. I spoiled him too much, during my first playthrough, but I guess I just don't know how to ever make protag happy. Perhaps it's for the best.

I don't mean that in a condescending way, but maybe you were surprised that there is drama and bad consequences and such? Maybe you will like a game more where there is less conflict and more happy endings? Your problem with the game seems a little.... Naïve because while I adore Abramar just as you do, even without getting to an ending (i started playing yesterday) i would never ever believe an ending exists in a way that doesn't feel like a bad decision without pain and conflict, especially while romancing B. That would be in a way unrealistic. Yeah it's a fantasy game but I think fantasy is the best when the emotions and consequences do feel realistic in a way. Why would an ending with some kind of eldritch like being be like... Happy? That would feel like a fanfic written by a 13 y/o Maybe I misunderstand you but that's just my thoughts about it, and I really don't think Fortuna is asexual, not with the answers I gave him, maybe you didn't realized some decision you made that made fortuna seem that way?

I usually lose interest when there are cards because it makes no sense and is just there because of Slay the spire's success, but for once it's thematically appropriate. And it looks like it's more card building than deck anyway.

That IS describing the game. The gameplay loop is directly inspired by Tarot reading, which is an emotional / intuitive practice. In that, it's already accomplished its goal, successfully emulating the experience of interpreting an abstract cardboard cutout, while putting an interesting spin on it by letting you customize your own cards.
