Hi everyone. Just one more tip. You don't have to do it all at once. You can start with the walls and roof (I'd always advise that you do them around the same time, as the walls could get damaged due to bad weather if you wait for a very long time to do the roof). Once the structure is done, you can save money for cement, windows, and the primer paint (again, I'd advise that you do these around the same time as well). I wish you guys all the best, and thank you for watching❤

I like that you know and understand the importance of having a home to go to and to be buried from in case the need arises (God forbit). Its important for us to know where we come from to know where we are going. And for you to take such a huge responsibility of building your parents a house, you inspire me and make me feel like I can do it for myself and my kids. Also i like the way you went about paying directly to the supplier to avoid drama and the money going where it wasn't meant to, also for you to get the quality products to ensure you build a proper, quality home. We have to do things the right way we see it will work for us regardless of who we are dealing with, I would have done the same if I had a similar project at home. And for your things to be done right, do them yourself. ❤

Hello Zenande. Thanks for sharing this insightful video. So you mentioned that saving money through paying it over at the hardware stores monthly is NOT ideal. How would you advise one saves the money in a profitable way so that it doesn’t lose value. Thank you.
@Zen_Ande6 ай бұрын
Please note that comment was specific to me, I know a lot of people who have built their homes through using the store cards. This is to say, that method has a success track record. I kept my money on my savings account, I don't really know what interest it was earning, but I can tell you it was not significant. Some banks have fixed interest savings options, so consider using that as well. Just make sure you align the start of your protect accurately to the term of your fixed interest savings. Otherwise, you are going to incur penalties (someone at the bank should be able to explain this better). I would advise against things that you believe will get you quick money, unless you are willing to take the risk of losing it. Higher return=higher risk. Thank you for your question, and all the best ❤️

@Zen_Ande6 ай бұрын
Hey! It can be any brand. Just ask for a primer, and tell them it's the paint you used after cementing a house. Link: www.cashbuild.co.za/shop/undercoats-primers/19387-medal-prof-trade-plaster-primer-white-1l.html

Overall how much did you spend?
@Zen_Ande6 ай бұрын
R200k should be enough to cover everything. If you will be building in stages, R130k should be enough for the wall, roof, and labour.

Did you not submit plans for municipal approval?
@Zen_Ande4 ай бұрын
I built the house in the villages, so I didn't need the municipal approval. If you are building in the city, it would be advisable to submit the plan. Thank you for watching ❤️

@@Zen_Ande Hi Zenande, unfortunately that's not true according to the law of South Africa, all building work needs approved plans unless it's certain specified minor works (or there are laws "for thee but not for me" that I'm not aware of. Last time I checked everyone is equal before the law in South Africa even though we know it's not implemented that way so I guess there are "laws for thee but not for me")

@@cyclenatic9506 Thank you for letting me know. I am sure there are many people who were not aware the municipal approval requirements apply in the villages as well. Thank you for this comment.
