@@TheGorillaBiker That’s it it’s all about reading the room and I was the same with my first bike purchase the seller was so sound, got it for a great price plus he gave me a proper big bike tent for free which has been an absolute gem since. Yea like you say if you feel treated well over text they usually follow through in person. Great to have the options of grilling out delivered too. Does that all include shipping like the Reg plate you had to buy or C of that not needed cause it’s not on the “road”?

I ring people, if they don't seem engaged on the phone then nah, like it's a lot of money so I'd only give it to a good company :) That's the job lad, always good to find sound people and stick with them then. I genuinely haven't found a bike in Germany that's cheaper than Ireland. I found vast majority to be way more expensive. In the market for 2007 - 2008 gixxer 1k and they go from 7k to 10k which is absolutely insane. As an example same ones in Ireland would be €5k - €6k similar in UK. The only benefit really is the selection. Near impossible to find the bike that you want in Ireland. I'm just drooling over so many nice bikes in UK, could always find what you're looking for in top condition.
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for some reason your comment got flagged as spam? No idea why. Yeah to be fair there isn't a huge saving to be had with bikes that are available here. Part of mine was definitely selection, look for a falco here or a V2 tuono etc. Selection and condition is definitely a huge bonus. The UK would have been my choice if not for stupid brexit. I saved a little by going to Germany and got a fun trip so I'm happy :)

I've been out on my gsx600f four times now and I absolutely love it and all things motorbike 😁😁😁 Back on the horse today as well so getting back out there. It would be a lot cheaper if you find a bike in Britain that suited, I think you need to change the headlight cause the bikes on mainland Europe headlights are set for driving on the right, ie. aimed away from oncoming traffic on dips. Always nice to fly and ride home though, done it a few times myself.

Pretty ok really all things considered :) Fuel would usually be about 70% of that too it was mad money on the way back. And not at all thanks for watching it :) So it's 2 euro per cc up to 300 cc, then 1 euro per cc thereafter. My bike new would be over a grand basically as a 998cc bike, but I had about 90% depreciation due to age. The depreciation scale on the website is the important one imo as any bikes over the 90% are worth getting :)

Lookin to get myself a 97 Bandit 1200, none exist in Ireland but there's a few in mainland Europe. I've been doing mad amounts of research into this, wondering if it's worth looking in the UK too since it's a far easier distance, or if the VAT and customs duty would just equal a short holiday in France or Germany. €800 is reasonable and is what it'd roughly cost to get something from the UK too, so why not do it this way? Thanks Paul! When I insured mine they took the VIN, you can also trailer it there or with the help of a friend with a van etc. Just a note, at the VRT point it does need to move under it's own power, has to be a running, riding bike! You'll only need that ownership document from Germany for the VRT and the other docs I mentioned. You don't need a german reg or TUV test or anything like that.

From what I can gather from local government websites over there it does depend on vehicle type, cars seem to be about 150 for 11 days in the same region for instance. That said I think 300 euro for the plate, insurance etc etc is pretty good as they only take your passport details basically. Not sure would it be any cheaper with a smaller bike.

Yeah you should absolutely just get an invoice from them, when you do it yourself you've to show a ferry booking etc. An invoice should be fine, but if you're unsure just drop in to the VRT centre and ask. I wouldn't know exactly as I never imported something that way.

Hi I have a Question having bought a bike in France will I have to get paperwork translated into English thanks adrian
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker 7 ай бұрын
Think I mentioned in the video I personally didn't have to, but I've read plenty of situations where the VRT person made people get them translated. I translated it with Google translate and had that prepared myself just in case, the fella who helped me actually just translated it on his phone as he went.

and if the bike is currently a german track bike with no documents how does that work with getting it back to ireland and registered with irsh number plate?. also the german export plate covers you for insurance etc, what about when you got to the uk? as it is no longer in the EU
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker Жыл бұрын
I have absolutely no idea. Personally I wouldn't touch a bike that didn't have all of the documents in order if you planned on registering it.

@@AdamMc07 Ah yeah I get it! I'm sure there probably is a way to get it back and sorted, probably need to have a verified bill of sale at the least and transit documents. If it's worth the hassle then go for it :) Thanks!

I'd thought I covered it in the video, you just need to book a VRT appointment and bring all the documents they send you in the email after you book, ride the bike there and then pay. Job done.

Do u have to pay vrt on a bike from Germany. I live in kk too. Was looking to buy a 2020 onwards sx1000. Would it work out cheaper. There is no choice here, only bike world, pretty shit options here really.
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker Жыл бұрын
Yep. You've to pay vrt on absolutely anything unless you're bringing it in as spare parts etc. I live in the US now 😂 It depends on what's available in Ireland and how much vrt is, there's a vrt calculator for motorcycles online. Also make sure the mileage is high enough that you don't.have to pay import vat. I think it needs to be over 6000km

Do you need to show any proof of mileage when doing vrt or all you need is that 2 documents (small and big)
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker Жыл бұрын
No you just need a receipt and all that also. The mileage is on the German registration etc so that you can't clock it though, not sure on other countries but from Germany it's all there.

38 Euro for a plane ticket, WTF?? That seems crazy cheap. I would have got nice hotels and abused the shit out of the breakfast to. God, I love to eat! For me, to get a nice mini holiday, the adventure/experience, etc...I would totally do what you did versus getting the bike shipped back to me even if it saved money to ship it. The brake lines look amazing and same for the rotors.

Yeah it's very very cheap, ryanair have let me down far too many times but overall for things like this they're so so handy, the next cheapest was 100 euro. Haha they were good breakfasts too :P Literally ate myself to bursting :P Eating is second to bikes :D Yeah exactly, it's just overall a better use of the money imo, fair enough if it's not something you can do but I only had to take 2 days off and I'd do it again! Wait until you see the front rotors :)
