Feels like you'd travelled in our footsteps as we'd driven around the same places back in 2013 except in the opposite direction (we'd caught a ferry from Dublin and began our journey through Snowdonia then headed south and east into England). One thing we did was set out TomTom sat. nav. to avoid motorways/tollways and ended up being taken along some really nice country roads and through quaint, authentic villages.

I know this is 3 years late, but as a Devonshire girl, don't go to Exeter for a Devonshire cream tea! You'll need to go to one of the coastal towns, or somewhere smaller!
@kerryendon75143 жыл бұрын
Did just that! We went to Bishopsteignton, an ancestral town for us! (Bishops for short) and had a wonderful day and a REAL Devonshire tea! K from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤

Ireland has similar landscape. If you're coming here, maybe skip the Guinness brewery seeing as everyone goes there. Do go to Trinity College Dublin, Stephen's Green (Hi Stephen!), the Phoenix Park, etc. Plenty more in Cork (English market is a must), Kerry, Galway, Donegal. Looking forward to seeing Israel.
@flyingthenest7 жыл бұрын
haha we aren't huge drinkers anyway so probably would skip the Guinness brewery! Waaay more into seeing the beautiful sights! Thanks for all the recommendations, will keep tabs on this for when we finally get out there!

Great video. However, at 2:19 you should have taken that road on the left, which would have lead you to the beautiful town of Port Isaac. I think you thought you went to Port Isaac, but I'm afraid you didn't. You turned right and went to Port Gaverne, which pretty but there's not much there. Port Isaac is really pretty and is famous as the place where they filmed Doc Martin staring Martin Clunes as a really grumpy doctor. You might not be familiar with it, but look it up. You were so close!

Surely cream is, in general, less dense than jam. It therefore only stands to reason that those whom add the cream before the jam and advise others to perform similar works of the Devil have absolutely no idea...

7:01 Exeter a town?? A cathedral city rather; and the county seat of Devon, with a recorded history stretching back to its position as a 1st-century AD military base in the Roman province of Britannia. Heavily bombed during the Baedeker raids of April/May 1942, with forty acres of the city flattened and many historical buildings (including the cathedral) either damaged or destroyed. Postwar redevelopment did nothing to enhance the appearance this once-beautiful city.
@rebeccarendle37064 жыл бұрын
The scientists tested whether Cornish jam cream or Devon cream jam is corrected... The most important thing is the ratio of scone to cream to jam..the correct ratio is 4:3:3 or 40g (2cm) scone 30g (1cm) cream 30g (1cm) jam The most important thing is the percentage sugar.. Which should be a total of 28 percent.. That is the hedonic breakpoint or optimal sweetness. Also they say the Devon way is correct due to the viscosity.. If on warm or cold scone the more viscous cream sticks to scone better (like spreading butter) and then the less viscous jam (that is much less viscous if it gets warm) goes on top.. Shame you didn't go to Mousehole, the Minack theater, king Author's castle, the lost gardens of heligan, tin mines and much much more... You didn't even do the tip of the iceberg in Cornwall :(... And Devon you missed completely.. Eg Dartmoor, Clovelly, Hartland, Exmoor, Doon Valley, Valley of the rocks etc
