This unique film just popped up in my suggestions and I have just read the comment you wrote seven years ago about your health issues. This is 2024. Hopefully, you are feeling much better. Indeed, you were right : this video offers peace, beauty, life. Nature and music make such a wonderful mix! It reminds us of the beauty of life, beauty that we all need in our lives. I sincerely wish that you found peace of mind and happiness after those difficult moments you have been through. 💐

In this politico twisted and war addled world - watching with tired eyes and mind - feeling the music and the created visions of plants and animals - stirring the heart deeply - lets one find contentment - in a living art work - as far as is possible. Quite a triumph and thanking you - very much. Fare thee well - on life's journey

Such a rapturous little place, just a garden. I love all the lovely pictures of butterflies, they can be so fleeting. Even the reptiles are amusing. All the little lives that love your garden. The insects are all interesting as the butterflies and the birds too although harder to get the birds. Get some proper bird boxes, they'll be more numerous then. You'll also have sounds of baby birds.
@Croonedaway8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We have got lots of birds - it's just they are very difficult to photograph! I made some boxes for the house martins according to the RSPB instructions, using a mix of saw dust and cement. They look brilliant but the ungrateful critters have totally ignored them! We also have a visiting Sparrow Hawk (in the film) who is not fussy what it eats. Even then, when I found him/her looking unwell I took him/her to the wildlife rescue - it's all part of nature!

What beautiful photography of an especially beautiful garden! It was a joy to see from beginning to end. The brick structure was interesting also. It that mainly for bees/wasps?
@anneengelkingwellman11018 жыл бұрын
+Anne Engelking Wellman I just googled around and found the info on invertebrate houses similar to yours with nooks and crannies. It looks like something we should try. Thank you again for posting your lovely video.
@Croonedaway8 жыл бұрын
+Anne Engelking Wellman thanks very much - glad you enjoyed it! The 'bug hotel' has been a great success and everyone who has seen it wants to go and build one. You just make one with whatever materials you have to hand. It's amazing what they attract - the bees are Mason bees, quite rare in the UK but thriving here. They nest in holes and seal them up with 'mortar' then they hatch the next year. Here's a link to making one of these www.rspb.org.uk/makeahomeforwildlife/advice/gardening/insects/wildlifestack.aspx

+Anne Engelking Wellman I'll try to post a link to our community garden facebook page album which shows the construction facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.530746910293663.1073741827.494219147279773&type=1&l=c2a0dfb067

I just had to come back to view your video again it is so lovely. The photography is the best I've seen. The only things missing though in your wonderful garden are weeds! Where do you grow your weeds ? : ) Your lovely stand of sweet peas makes me want to try those again though the hot weather here ruins them quickly, but the fragrance near yours must be quite a memorable experience.
@Croonedaway8 жыл бұрын
Well thank you - that's really nice of you! The weeds are there mind, I just haven't done close-ups of them! And as they say - a weed is just a plant in the wrong place. We are not clinical or tidy in any way and our garden goes all out to be wildlife friendly. The new wild flower 'meadows' that used to be lawn is full of 'weeds'! I also let them run rampant in the veg patch and mix everything up - we reckon they grow better, probably because the pollinators are on hand, and it looks better. Having said all this though, we do try and keep on top of the more invasive weeds. And now I must head out there beer in hand to watch the bats....

What was in the holes of the log piece that the bees were buzzing around? 5:42
@Croonedaway Жыл бұрын
They are holes of various diameters drilled about 10cm deep which solitary bees nest in. The Mason bees cover over the entrance with mud to protect the larvae. They are amazing pollinators!

Thankyou so much, may you advise me on the name of the trailing plant flowering pink next to the bees ? At 5.25 in the video.

Thanks. The plant is a creeping low-growing alpine purple form of Thyme (herb). Unfortunately I don't have the variety name. Garden centres have them so good luck!

Critics there will always be -- but for them - where is beauty ? One is simply charged with its presence - and gratefully absorbed within. This is more than a tonic - it is simply a work - promoting love of Nature and the like. PS: Heard a cuckoo and twittering - here and maybe one watch - without sound ? Fare thee well - on life's journey
