THE COTTON CASTLE IN TURKEY (PAMUKKALE) // TURKEY TRAVEL VLOG

We have made our way to the beautiful town of Pamukkale, Turkey to see the infamous travertines and hot springs that exist here. We stayed right in town so we could be among the first to arrive and watch the hot air balloons come over the travertines at sunrise. The early morning wake up was so worth it! We ended up having the place to ourselves for a while so we took a dip in the water before heading to the Cleopatra Pools and Hierapolis to take a look around these ancient ruins.
If you are thinking of visiting the Cotton Castle in Pamukkale, we highly recommend getting there as early as possible (the South gate opens early for sunrise while the main gates open at 8am) to enjoy the area before the crowds arrive. As you can see in our video, when the crowds come, they REALLY come (and we were there in October which is off-season)! The Pamukkale pools are absolutely worth a visit though. The hot springs are so welcoming and are said to have healing properties, so be sure to get in for a dip!

great video guys, brilliant idea to get there early, wow crowds! I was there in 2005 and remember how hard it was underfoot. I was travelling with 2 of my sisters and the locals from our accommodation snuck us in at midnight where we got to swim in Cleopatra's pool and visit the amphitheater. It was an amazing experience, but realized when we had to duck and hide from a security guard that we really should not have been there. lol wonderful memory though, and we were not young. It was a trip for my 40th birthday and my sisters were 51 & 56!

We got our tickets right at the entrance. We didn't need to buy them in advance. We went to the entrance that's up high though because that one opens earlier than the lower entrance which is why we got in so early. Enjoy!
