Fascinating! I can hardly wait to finally get to Shropshire - land of my Robinsons, Woods, Brittains, Ravenshaws!

Fantastic presentation. As a Salopian born and bred i learnt an awful here and will definately revisit some of these houses. As an aside as a descendant of the Needhams of Shaverley i feel an urge to visit Boston too!

This is fascinating and learning more about the area where my ancestory Thomas Fewtrell came from. He came from the Easthope but some records mention "The Downs" . There was also an article I read about a "farm" called Manor Farm which I found mentioned in some archived documents. Are you familiar with this location? "The chief house of the manor, mentioned in 1306 (fn. 57) and owned since the 16th century by the Ball family, may therefore have been the farmhouse that a Mr. Corfield held of the manorial estate in 1732; at that time the only other large holding on the manorial estate was attached to Manor Farm, (fn. 58) the former freehold of the Fewtrells. Edward Fewtrell bought his farm from the Crosthwaites, (fn. 63) and in 1588 Roger Fewtrell sold 'Dyke's house' to his brother John (fl. 1593). (fn. 64) John's son Edward (fl. 1640) was the owner c. 1610. (fn. 65) John Fewtrell (fl. 1661, d. 1690) (fn. 66) owned two farms and a cottage in Easthope, one of which was MANOR FARM. (fn. 67) In 1712 his grandchildren Samuel Fewtrell and Mary Harris (fn. 68) conveyed the farms and cottage to William Russell of Enchmarsh. (fn. 69) By 1732 the farms had been reunited with the manor. (fn. 70) Manor Farm has an east-west timber framed range that included a late medieval open hall. A two storeyed box framed cross wing was built at the east end, perhaps c. 1600; it has a contemporary plaster ceiling by craftsmen whose work has been found in several other Shropshire houses. (fn. 71) It may have been then that an upper floor and central stack were inserted in the medieval hall. (fn. 72)"

My grandad was William Moore born in Shropshire, i can trace our moore family back to 1786 all from the same area, my dad was also born there in 1940... My 2nd great grandad Francis Moore was married to Elizabeth Sarah "Zinzan" - her ancestors owned the Globe Theatre & were also Royal Court Jousters... 👍

Spent the last five years tracking down one branch to the Royal Tribes of Wales, resulting in a four volume book, with Vol. 1 published. One of hundreds of relatives brings up Burton of Longer, specifically dau. Eliz. marrying Joseph Jones. Really appreciate people bringing locations to us in other countries. Sadly, none of the 35+ News Outlets cared about my discoveries. Oh well.

Wonderful presentation! Although I was always under the impression that as a fire prevention, no shrubbery or trees were planted next to most of these houses.
