1:16 No not the whole country is on the mountain. Is just the old town of main capital (name: Città di San Marino) of San Marino that on a mountain. With the main capital include there are 8 city/town in San Marino. The other towns/citys of San Marino are in the hill valley (under the old town of the main capital). The Old Town of the main capital were the most tourists are, but also the best view of the country. There are public buses from Rimini (Italien Beach City/Town with a famous beach) to San Marino in 50 up to 60 Minute ride. For 6 € a ride.

Originally suppose to visit this country was on my europe list 23. But i stayed an extra day in Rome to see the Colosseum and then 2 days in Florence to see the birth place of Panerai.
