The loss of Barry was a loss for all of us. There was never a more genuine article than the Cowsills and their talent was remarkable. They remain very relavant to this day and I'm thankful the surviving family members continue to perform. There will never be another group like them.

I seen the Family Band documentary and it's just baffling how Bud Cowsill just couldn't let his sons take this band and run with it. Their talent was immense and what a different story they could have written in music history. They deserved so much more. Great to see Barry playing and having just a great time. RIP Barry!

I watch this over and over…it just makes me happy. As for the few negative comments, well, everyone has a right to an opinion, but this really does NOT suck. As for them acting "childish" in the beginning, hey, here's a bunch of brothers and their sister getting together (they were living in different areas of he country) and having a good time. I have been fortunate enough to see them perform locally a couple of times, and Paul is a total clown. They have had their share of heartache and tragedy, so what's wrong with just having fun and enjoying themselves?! I love this video. The Cowsills were and continue to be under recognized for their talent. Thanks again, Louise, for your work and integrity, and for sharing this with the rest of us Cowsill fans!

It’s heartbreaking to see Barry so full of life and energy here. Barry’s death was such a tragedy. Sadly almost 20 years later, people still refuse to evacuate when Cat 4 and 5 storms approach and sometimes tragically pay with their lives.

I loved the Cowsills . In 1968 Or 69 I found 5 $ at the skating rink.. I went and bought the Cowsills album. I loved Barry and my skating teachers daughter loved John. So love their music to this day. My husband never heard their music, but now is a great fan. He said he never seen a more talented group of kids in his life . By the way Barry was my first crush and my skating coaches daughter (Susan Del Vecchio) loved John. We wore that album out.

This is cool music. So sad that he lost his life in Katrina floods. With managing to get to warehouse but there was looting and shooting. I hope he was not wounded before the flood. It must of been sudden rush of water. A waste of life taken. I am glad the family get togethers are fun and include the little kids too. They seem to be good parents. I feel Billy , Barry and Richard are putting on a couple of floor shows in heaven.

I remember the Cowsills from the 60s. My friends and i each had our "favorite Cowsill , and we couldnt share, each one had to be different. I was kind of late to the group, so Bill was available. He was great and all, but to my 12 year old mind, he was too old. Secretly, i was in love with Barry. Well, lo and behold, after about two months, the girl who was "Barry's girl" moved. Before qnyone else could try and change the rules, and claim him, i jumpedcon in there and announced that Barry was MINE!. For the next two years, i was in heaven, i had my Cowsill. Barry, you were a great boyfriend. Always thoughtful, always kind. And even though we never met, i knew that I'd love you forever. And i did. Rest in peace, my Barry.

This is a great song. I find myself listening too it often. It's funny, I came from a large musical family too and as a kid I thought the Cowsills were the perfect family. It's interesting to see that we're all alike, coping with pain, sadness, substance abuse issues, good times and bad. Barry was a talented fellow, sad to lose him. Love and hugs to the Cowsills!

John Cowsill is still with us as is Richard Carpenter. Karen and John both born on March 2nd (Karen in 1950, John in 1956). John and Karen could sing a play drums at the same time which is quite a rare skill.

I was born in 1969 so I missed this wonderful family. I had heard of them and knew of the Partridge Connection but had never really seen anything on them until last weekend. I saw Family Band and all week I've been trying to find everything I can find on them. Musically, they were/are a treasure. In the film (and other interviews) they come across as such engaging, interesting people...the kind of people I wish I could have over for a firepit jam session. Their non-bitter attitude in spite of the crappy hand they were dealt is inspiring. They have blessed me just in a week!

Barry, myself and John are about the same age. Barry born in 1954, myself born in 1955 and John born in 1956. The Cowsills were and are so talented. Great group.
