@@cwilson6990 Hi Cathy. I so much appreciate your taking the time to fill me in on all that great cool information on John & those video references. I saw Bob, Paul & Susan in Sept 2017 during their Happy Together Tour at Tarrytown's Music Hall. I'm sure you're familiar with that HT gig & some of the great groups touring together with them (Associations, Turtles, BoxTops - to name a few), Of course, my focus & excitement was focused on The Cowsills & OMG they were phenomenal & I was blown away. I've always liked them, but it was my 1st time experiencing them live. A completely heartwarming evening. Needless to say, The Beach Boys are a longtime favorite of mine also. I'm 67, but got to see them live in the 70's. Thanks again for your gracious response - I apologize for all my rambling. Take care - long live live music !

The Cowsills, at least Bob and John here, do the Beatles almost as good as the Beatles. Just curious, does the drummer or the guitarist control the tempo of a song. This seemed a bit rushed...but still great!

Great performance, great band. But what really really ticks me off is that people are rude and selfish...much of the crowd wants to listen and watch these guys play and a bunch of women decide to stand right in front of everyone dancing around and blocking people's view. They couldn't go off to the side a little, not stand right in front of John and Bob wiggle their ugly rear ends in front of everyone. This happened when I went to a Searchers show in Folsom a few years back. For much of the show there were hardly any people in this bar they were playing at but I'm certain people heard how good they were walking by the place and came in to see. When the show was over the place was packed, and every stinkin' person that came in stood right in front of the stage and those of us where really were 10 feet from the stage at a table enjoying the show could no longer see these history making, classic British invasion band perform. Have some class people.
@ilenefine65847 жыл бұрын
well as one of the self absorbed dancers I would like you to know that is a dance floor and there were always people dancing sometimes many...it is a small pub 9 tables and no room to move except there....you are very rude to call me and my best friend bitches....lovely man you must be, extremely rude......btw my table was the front one and I would get there at 5 pm for a 9:30 show to have those seats....
@chadlpnemt6 жыл бұрын
I didn't call you bitches...I called you rude and selfish. Did you see the guy behind you? He couldn't see and had to lean over so he could watch. No one came in to watch you dance...Ever go to a movie and have a guy with a tall hat or 6'5 sit right in front of you? Didn't enjoy the movie as much I'd bet. This is the Cowsills, not Joe's band down the street. I am a lovely man, ask my wife. But as a music fan and a fan of the Cowsills I would have been very disappointed not to be able to see them play because someone thought they were more important than the performers and block everyone's view. Being a small pub, sitting in your "front row" seats, you could have bobbed and danced at your table, sitting. Something to think about at your next small pub outing. If there's more room, dance your butt off. But frankly, I would find your squeezing in the front to put yourself on display quite off-putting.
@chainamarie036 жыл бұрын
@@ilenefine6584 I have to agree with him. When there are tables ppl pay for is shouldn't matter if there's a dance floor. Ppl came to watch some members of the Cowsills and not try to see thru you. Kinda rude.
@MrPhilfridge5 жыл бұрын
I get your point but as a musician myself I always find it a buzz the fuller the dancefloor and this isn't a concert venue....the women seem good looking that's a bonus as well! Incidently i'm from the UK and I tell you the Cowsills are virtually unknown over here, a travesty as they are all such wonderful musicians. Thanks for posting this clip.

@larrylewis57213 жыл бұрын
@@usmc-veteran73-77 I suspect this performance was not billed by the club as, "The Cowsills." Rather, whoever posted this here on YT chose to label the video as such. I forget the name of the place, but Bob used to do a regular solo gig at this (or a similar) California bar/restaurant. He's shown setting up for it at the beginning of the "Family Band" documentary. It was/is not at all unusual to see any number of variants of the C's lineups over the years at a given venue/gig. These are simply local gigs for the various siblings...gigs of convenience. I call these "groceries gigs." Susan was likely in New Orleans at this time, pursuing her own local gigs in her own solo & group formats. Speaking for myself as a full-time working musician, I feel confident that the lineup shown here were VERY happy to have a dancing crowd. Frankly, that's the whole idea. I suspect there were many points that evening when few if any people might have been dancing, depending on the song, and so people could then see the band pretty easily. My two cents, only. Btw...this is a fantastic rendering of "Tell Me Why."
