Thank you Stacy!! Finally someone with some damn sense! Must be the whole Capricorn Aquarius thing😂 I’m only 18 minutes in and had to comment. People are losing their damn mind deleting all their videos. Most of us have put too much work and time into our content just to delete everything in a frantic panic. I really hope a lot of crafters watch this video because you are the only crafter I watched that made the information clear. 💜

This is my comment I made on the petition. I worded it as such to hopefully bring awareness to the possibility that other "family friendly (not aimed for kids)" could be penalized. "I have an adult craft channel on KZbin and I am concerned about the incomplete and vague wording regarding child content or intent. Most of what I create on my channel a child could also create with some adult supervision. But I do not use items that are marketed to children and yet a child could be interested in what I create. Why would I be penalized for KZbin's inability to allow content creators to mark their videos for targeting a general audience? I do not make my videos for children. But that doesn't protect me if a child chooses to watch my video. What kind of protections will there be for content creators who don't "play with toys" online but still have family friendly content aimed at adults?"

I love this girl I totally agree with you the first thing I thought was I don’t monetize my video so this will not affect me but to be on the safe side I put a disclosure but my video channel is not suitable for children under 13 and I will be looking over my videos that may be targeted thanks for doing this video this will calm the scared ones I feel bad for all the ladies who deleted videos and channels I did as well left a comment to FTC well said Stacy

putting a disclosure is fine but dont think that will protect you if you are using kids things or etc.

It affects you whether you monetize your videos or not....this isnt a monetization thing it's a visibility thing. But regardless....most crafters arent covered under coppa

Very informative tfs.Also you are the Only crafter ive seen who has put their hand up to support anyone who does get penalized. This says so much about your character and your consideration of others. Thank you!! Creators/crafters should support each other instead of thinking only of what they themselves may lose out on. You are amazing!!

If you are a creator, check your analytics for as long as you’ve been posting vids to KZbin. Go to where it gives a breakdown of age. I would not be worried if you have zero or a very low percentage of 13-17 year olds viewing your vids. I would say it’s pretty safe that you won’t be flagged by KZbin or the FTC Granted, they don’t show below the age of 13, but if 13-17 year olds aren’t watching, chances are kids younger than 13 aren’t watching either.

When we opened our account with You TUBE we signed an agreement giving away our rights - that is why we as creators are liable now - because You TUBE NOW says "they have no control of what we creators are downloading to there plate form. " That is how they are no longer responsible for our content and why we all have to now save our own arsh "so to speak"

the problem is, if you read the actual explanation from COPPA themselves, it says, and I quote... "COPPA applies only to those websites and online services that collect, use, or disclose personal information from children." the last I checked, I am not a website or an online service who collects, uses or discloses personal information from children..... Its not me collecting the data... therefore I should not be held liable.... and yes I understand they think differently... but i have a feeling they are going to have to seriously change that wording and a lot of other things because it makes zero sense and contradicts itself at the same time as being vague as hell.

@@PinkPoodleCrafts Yes , I agree with you 100% my worry is the dam fine print, I am not in the habit of putting trust in any Government agency when it means my asrh is on the line, I am just a nobody, but I will not allow any one to penalize me while I am waiting for them, to dig there heads out of the sand. I will always protect my self, to the best of my ability. We all do just have to wait and see, but until then i am placing any questionable "Child attracting " vids on private for the time being - later I can figure out after kinks are all worked out what is best for the future of my channel... I have many videos that might attract children like dolls I have made and Carousel horses and the list goes on, and on. I just cant risk it for the time being until I am able to fully understand, this nonsense lol.....we all just have to wait and see : )) Sending Blessings my friend rosanne

Stacy, for as few videos as I've made so far, I love you and thank you for providing this information!! After hearing what I'm hearing, I FIRST have to make clear I am NOT computer savvy at ALL. Since making my last video, I have lost track on how to even MAKE a NEW video, now that KZbin took away their own editing platform that I barely knew how to use as it WAS!!... With that said, I now find, I THINK, that ONE of my videos might need to be set as "made for kids"... only because it is of a mini album I made based on the theme Wizard Of Oz, and kids like the story and/or movie The Wizard of Oz! (Possibly another that shows a tag I made with a Twilight theme?).... So NOW, I don't know how to physically find the setting per one individual video, and then to set/label this particular video properly. Could you advise, or demonstrate how, or even just point me to another video that shows how? I've tried to do some research on my own, but can't seem to find the info I'm looking for. Hey girl... go to the video or videos in question, click edit and then scroll down and you will see where you can choose if it is or isnt geared towards kids. :)

Thank you for some common sense about this whole issue. perhaps the answer would be for the FTC to fine parents of children 12 and under who allow their children to go on, AND falsify information to sign up for an account on you tube instead of kids you tube.

I deleted 2 videos because they were all about Golden Books. We would be ruined for the rest of our lives if we were charged $42,000! This is serious and not to be taken lightly. I have marked the rest of my videos not for children. We'll see what happens in the near future. tfs Stacy! xo

Move your content off KZbin. Watch youtube die. Why take the risk of a fine? I moved mine to joshwhotv.com My followers moved over no fuss. He's added a crafting category just for you today.
