My Mom taught me to crochet when I was very young, I have recently picked it back up Again. I wanted something to keep my hands bizzy while watching tv, so I grabbed some Old yarn skeins I had from a very long time ago and started. The thing that has really helped Me is that I learn by watching, and now there are so many KZbin channels I can watch And learn new ways to crochet. Back in the day they had crochet books to read, And you had to try to understand the stitches when reading, it wasn’t for me. I really enjoy your channel hope to learn more. I always have my wagon and always give myself the ability to pack up and bring everything to my vehicle! I never want to get stuck in traffic and have learned that it is easier and faster to get out of busy events! Also, never use the restroom or leave my booth!

The car was parked blocks away it’s not Always an option. And some events are all day from 10-8 it’s not possible not to hold it that long. Thats why I always bring an extra person.

When I sold at events I would always have a container with sunscreen, a portable fan battery powered, wipes, TP, hand sanitizer and an extra outfit . I also make a thermos of tea or coffee, snacks, water, high protein food, ice . (Fanny pack or cross body) for items I need to keep close to me good info about the themes that is strange ; I wonder if that is in all states ? It’s hard to know what to offer sometimes

Thank you for giving out the good advice on thing to do and not do when doing markets. I used to do an indoor holiday market with my mom and aunt for several years and that market was not a good one. Lack of advertisement and area was not a good turn out and we wouldn't make our money back, so we stopped doing them. Sadly they were promoted as crafting events but they would sell more booth spaces to things like Tupperware, pampered chef, scentsy, etc and those were the ones getting all the customers. Surrounding areas have started doing other kinds of markets and I thought I might try one maybe next year we will see. But I also get alot of custom orders that keep me busy so who knows.

We have a dewalt portable fan my partner originally got for his motor sports events. It is a lifesaver! I also love freezing water bottles for our cooler. It doubles as ice and then stays cooler a bit longer while we drink it. Smart to bring TP. That's not something you ever want to be without. Love watching y'all's videos. Hope you both are doing well

If you do a best seller video it would be cool juxtapose that with what you thought would do well and didn’t. As well as what goes into the what you’ll take to the beach event apposed to a street event. If it’s a two or more day event will/should you change up your inventory mid event.

A lot of people don’t want the help. I normally don’t. That’s how I’ve had things get stolen and broken in the past. A couple of us got out but they were already doing it.

I grew up watching my grandmother knit and crochet, and when I was young I did try it myself. About 10 yrs ago, I was inspired to crochet again, mainly for amigurumi. I don't have the patience to make clothing :). Being older, I noticed that my hands/wrists/fingers were tiring out very fast and after a while it was so painful I had to stop. My question is, how do you manage the pain of repetitive motion? Or do you even have pain? If not, how do you plan on managing it if it happens in the future? (If anyone else has ideas, feel free to contribute).

Re: Crochet getting popular, I blame the pandemic. I started, stopped, and then re-started again (late 2023) and actually got good. The pandemic crochet babies are reaching maturity. One thing I notice with the uptick is that quality/longevity can be hit or miss. I've started seeing how I need to modify a design. For example, modifying straps on things to be way wider to reduce stretch or doing D rings and using a non-crochet strap. Some of these bags and water bottle carriers will be at your knees in 3 months.

I noticed your husband said “we bring”, I was curious if he also crochets? I enjoy your wrap up of the event you attended. Always little tidbits of useful information (bring toilet paper-who knew?). I have noticed other crocheters commenting that themed items don’t sell, even Christmas things. As a newbie I would be making apples of every type if theme was apples. Very good advice! Thanks for another enjoyable video❤.

I bring battery operated fans with me. Too hot, I pass out. I always bring a small cooler with food, not just snacks. And, another one with water. I use good zip lock bags and fill with water then freeze them. They replace ice in the little cooler and, if I run out of water, I can drink the baggies.

totally agree that there are so many crocheters out there now. I went to an indoor market last weekend and there were about 45, maybe 50 vendors. I counted 5 amigurumi vendors and an additional 3 that were selling crochet items in their booths. I have also noticed an increase of crochet KZbinrs. (not that it's a bad thing).

I'm learning so much with your videos. You mentioned that during specific theme events, you don't really sell theme related objects (for example, for an apple festival you would bring apple stuff but they don't sell). Do organizers ask you to bring theme related objets? How is it perceived by organizers?

I am loving your channel and you say what we are all thinking *lol* I really would love to know where you get these places? I am searching and searching. I have a few for Sept but I would love more bugger events. We did kne Saturday it was so so so hit no one came out it was dead dead.....the coordinator said we had to stay till 5 or we could not attend another event from her. I am still dealing with sickness itnwas just over 100 and we made nothing. We'll I made less then $20 and my son sold nothing. It was terrible. We would love bigger events. Where do you find them? This is Missy I'm using my husband's account, i do not do Facebook. My husband goes to markets with me as well! I can not put tent up myself nor take it down. I'M still working full time so i only do two markets a year, its a struggle but i crochet, sew, macrame. I can not complain we do them two Saturday's a year. I may do more when i retire soon not sure yet!

Thanks for sharing. I'd like to see how you started, how you decided what to make. How do you price, do you have a set way? I know some go by time and supplies. Do you bag your stuff? I know up ne they don't allow plastic. What are all your payment options? Do you give out cards with all your sales? I was going to guess 30 tops. In my area, I'm in a small town, so not many crocheters. The one here does tons of tea towels. I cut those out, but I can't crochet fast enough to do an event yet.

I normally dont comment but did want to say maybe if you get caught without food a delivery app that had any of the food trucks might of helped. Also I've done events of all kinds off and on most of my life from both sides of the table. I've never seen any events that had vendors so close. I grew up in Knoxville TN but I'm in Detroit now so many different places and at almost 60 I don't think I'll do any more.
