I'm 49 and The Cramps are still my favorite band of all time. They were full throttle on stage and made sure that you always had a great time.

Man, this is gold. So very little footage of the Bryan Gregory-era (well, except the incredible Napa State Hospital footage) Cramps. And let's be honest, Bryan Gregory had "it". Too bad he never was able to do something more with it. I don't think they ever filled the void after he left. Still did great music but it slowly but surely became the Lux n Ivy show. Even Ivy said this was likely the Cramps best era. No arguments here. They had such a raw, grungy vibe. Things got more slick by Date With Elvis. And man does Lux reminded me of a young Bill Forsythe here. Ha!

I think the cramps represent the end of rock and roll, there is the line of real rock from before but through elvis and I cannot find that thread after the cramps snips here and there but the thread was broken and this clip exemplifies what rock is or was

we used to have to use our imaginations when it came to seeing/hearing/knowing about great obscure-ish bands like the cramps. i almost feel sorry for the kids nowadays who have too much information about the artist - something about visualising how bands must look by the sound of their recordings, or a lo-resolution photo of the band on the record sleeve (if you're lucky) the mystique of it all was a powerful thing. any morsel of information was precious, and there's something to be said for bands/artists etc *not* sharing all of most mundane biographical details of their lives on instagram for all their fans. taking away the mystique takes something away from the romantic sense of danger that rock'n'roll had in days gone by. having said that, shit like this on youtube is incredible - thanks for uploading.
