I remember when I heard of Dolores's death, The very next day a friend invited us round and the playlist was mostly Cranberries at a little party. I genuinely had to hold back tears but couldn't express it to anyone. So painful. She is missed. It took me a long time to want to hear her voice again. Still a bit sore honestly. Love her / their spirit.

@Family of Nomads i was really late to learn of Dolores passing. I don't know why, but even though she was a celebrity i never met it hit me just as if she were family. She was one for the people -not for the executives. The music that she made she did that emotionally in a direct line between herself and the rest of us. I wish i could explain it better.

OMW! Yes, i have not noticed Dolores with no shoes yet, but i want to see that! :) I am 48, and i miss her far far more than any other celebrity that has past in my life time. And the Cranberries were not even the band i played closest attention to. I thought they had retired after album #4, Bury the Hatchet. But Dolores was special in that she allowed me to feel as if i really knew a part of her in her music :) She was defiant of labels. And i miss her more, even more than Leonard Cohen. That great Prophet was due to pass, i was sad but at peace when he did. I do not have that same peace with Dolores being gone. She was just 46.
