A song for all of you fighting trolls on the internet. Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.
Video filmed and edited by DJ Viernes of Symmetry Films. Audio mixed and mastered by Ben Zito of Centennial Sound.
Lyrics:
I've earned myself a reputation
That my bark is much worse than my bite
But I keep snapping at Goliath's hands
With all of my tiny might
There are no stones at my disposal
There's no God to award me a crown
But I am always swinging at
Somebody I can't knock down
All of the fire I've swallowed
All of the sparks that went dark in my gut
I am always burning up
Dress me in red and throw your roses
And I'll rankle the beasts with words
It's a graceless dance of epithets
We learn to make someone hurt
They will consume your sweet resistance
And they'll carry your heart in their teeth
But I am always feeding them
The ugliest parts of me
All of the words I've swallowed
All of the sharp things I've kept in my mouth
I am always bleeding out
Take me to war
Honey, I dare you
I'll be the sweetest thing
To ever scare you
Give me a fight I can't resist
Give me something to break with my fists
Take me to war
Oh, honey, I dare you
I watched a weed usurp the garden
And it poisoned the rest of the crops
It would take days of fighting stubborn roots
To tear the whole damn thing out
So I will leave it where it's standing
And instead I will find me a match
I'll turn it all to kindling
I'll burn it all down to ash
All of the ire I've swallowed
All of the coals that still sit in my gut
I am always burning up
Take me to war
Honey, I dare you
I'll be the sweetest thing
To ever scare you
Give me a fight I can't resist
Give me something to break with my fists
Take me to war
Oh, honey, I dare you

I've listened to "curses" a ton, but usually when I find a band with a song I like a lot I usually don't like their other stuff nearly as much, however, every song I've heard from these people are better than the last. Really like the growl in their voice and all the songs give me goosebumps!! Amazing band

I saw them play a few weeks ago. And they were amazing. They played so many different songs from all their albums. Only song they didn't play live was this one. Which this has kinda become my anthem. So would have been great to see them play live. But I got them to sign a T-shirt for me. And they were all the nicest people you could ever want to meet. Not to mention some of the most talented musicians I've seen live. I really hope they come back to the quad cities.

It's scary how much I relate to this. The way I used to put it is, I've been fed rage for years and now that it's all coming out, you can have it all back. Literally felt like all this blackness keeps pouring back out. I'm in a much better place now and I feel protected from this person, but the rage is still there and it's scary how accurate this song feels.

It's interesting. I wanna document tonight where I'm listening to your songs and staying up out of spite even though I have to be up at 8am (it's almost 6am). I'll have to elaborate everything on whatever lyric video you release next, and of course gather these thoughts more, but I think y'all have just now given me lightning in a bottle that I've never had before. Listening to some of these songs gives me anger and venom and listening to the lyrics has taught me how to take that anger that I've never really experienced that much in life and use it to finally stand up for myself and give myself that strength and spark to be who I want to be unapologetically and fight for what I believe in. So thank you. For this gift that's gonna be invaluable to me in my war of getting back to being okay again.

You guys are still criminally underrated, I've seen so many people that don't know your music and it's baffling. Your music is honestly amazing, from the lyrics, to the singing, to even the drums in the back of the music and the mixing of different people's voices. There is not one song you guys have made that I don't enjoy. Not only does it sound beautiful but it's inspiring, it gives ideas. There's so many songs I could listen to that you guys have made for a creative mood boost. Perfect to listen to while drawing, or doing anything really.

YES YES YES, their songs make me think of mo much more to add to my stories they are an instant fuel to my imagination to just wander around and get lost in the beauty of the metaphors and in the lyricism, the crane wives deserve so much more recognition i always try to share their music around(also sigma profile picture for the win)
