Is… is this a confession? Edit: Huh. Yeah. Made a low view-count joke on one of the Silent Hill videos. It really is a confession (this comment… WAS meant to be a light-hearted joke at first. I had no idea things would go this way though) Edit 2: [RANT ALERT] man… this whole thing has ballooned way out of proportion. Anyway, I always thought the thing that people took umbrage with these types of comments was that they’re just really mean-spirited for the sake of being mean-spirited. And not that they just dislike that exact sequence of words. Egg on my face, I suppose. Does that mean that if they worded these things ever so slightly different, then people would’ve been more accepting of them? (I am joking, btw) Then again, I suppose „being mean for the sake of being mean“ has kinda become the internet’s main theme, hasn’t it. Countless hyperbolic, low-effort videos about how xyz fell off/is overrated/is actually secretly the worst piece of media ever created. The comment/reply sections where at least 95% of the comments are making fun of either the original poster, the person/thing the post was about, or another person in that reply section. When someone says something you dislike, you automatically have to belittle them and signal to them how they’re lesser than you for thinking that strawberries are just kinda okay or something. You cannot engage them like a regular human being. You have to make fun of them by using a „clever retort“ you (and every other „wise guy“ in these reply sections) blatantly stole from another commenter, and now try to pass off as your own, even if said retort contributes nothing to the actual conversation, and it’s obvious you’re just throwing your voice in so that some of that „internet karma“ can rub off on you. Because you have to get your virtual likes somehow.

My problem is I'm obsessive when I find a book I like and I'll bang it out in a 6 to 12 hour power session. But for 95% of the time I just can't get hooked by a book. I'm trying to get into Warhammer 40k lore and I got a few books and they're a slog to get through where as I finished all 9 Expanse books in 3 weeks. Thankfully I did just have one of those 5% times where a book completely enamors me. Play Nice by Jason Schrierer about the rise and fall of Blizzard entertainment was the book.
