I saw a race even crazier. These little boys ran the 800m where they ran around the track the first lap and then the little boy in the lead as he was running the second lap didn’t know where the finish line was and he stopped half way there thinking he had won. Some of the other boys caught up to him and thought he had won and they all stopped too. Only one little boy knew to keep running and took the lead by a lot. The officials kept yelling at those who had stopped to keep running. They did and the boy who was originally in the lead who thought he had already won, turned it on and caught up and passed the new lead and won. It was funny, cute and amazing. I would have posted the video link, but couldn’t find it. If I do, I’ll come back and post it, if I remember to.

Yes, that was a crazy finishing kick by the last leg in lane 6. Unfortunately, lane 6 got disqualified somehow.

The second runner, after the first handoff, should have stayed on the curve for lane 6. But she took the baton and went straight down the backstretch in lane 4. All the lines are confusing to 7 year old girls.

The 3rd runner in lane 6 ran her 100 meters in lane 4, & that disqualified that team. In the 4x100 meter relay, the runners stay in their designated lane the entire race, unlike the 4x400 relay, where the runners assigned to the outer lanes can cut to the inner lanes after the first 3/4's of the first lap.
