Most of these being relays is understandable... the first 800m comeback might have been strategy or confidence but as the lone solo event comeback it's the most impressive of the five here.

But it is the qualifiers. Not the final or something. The other 2 girls there can finish in 2nd or 3rd. Nobody cares..

She didn't completely comeback in that one though. The other girl's arm crosses before her head, but they just gave it to her anyways. Still impressive, but you can see in the photo she comes up just short and should of been awarded second.

@@gooddude640 my understanding is that finishing places in track are decided by when your torso crosses the line, not any random part of your body including arm and head. Laus' torso clearly crossed first.

It is not surprising that 400m hurdlers are deadly in relays, because they are unbelievably strong and do not fade. Recall Kriss Akabusi of GB at the 1992 IAAF world championships he edged out the world champion Antonio Pettigrew of US on the anchor leg.

What is Turkey doing in European competitions? I remember being a kid and Turkey would always compete in the Asian competitions, but somewhere someone decided that we needed to think of Turkey as European and this switch happened. I wonder why. Turkey is not Europe and no matter how much you want to make a non-European muslim population as part of Europe, it's not going to happen.
